    I drive a 2011 6.7 F250. Has 130k miles. No rust, rattles or any problems. I tow a 10k camper all over the country. Completely stock.

      @teddydiesel  ปีที่แล้ว

      Nice. That’s awesome. They’re great trucks. Mine’s rattles like crazy because of the cab mounts. It’s northern truck so there’s some rust starting but nothing that I can’t get ahead. Other than that it’s been great to me.

      How is your DPF holding up at 130, John? I never went that far before chopping mine. Just too scared - great engine, didn’t want to risk it. Some guys say they never had an issue. Some guys pulled their hair out losing sensors constantly. Always wanted a real world answer.. I would imagine towing such a rig you’d be burning her clean quite often. I’ve also heard some horror stories specific to the metallurgy on the 2011’s with the cracked heads on I believe cylinder 3. Something to keep in mind if you are towing that much weight.

    • @johnmac4769
      @johnmac4769 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TonyLasagna The DPF is doing fine. I make sure when the notice comes on "cleaning DPF" I drive long enough to get it clean. My F250 is a late 2011 model so most of the issues of the early 2011's had been corrected. Still have the turbo with the ceramic bearings but have no issues so far. I am worried about the CP4 fuel pump but all the 6.7's have that issue. So far I do love the truck. At 100k I did remove the EGR cooler and clean it. Not a big deal.

    • @TonyLasagna
      @TonyLasagna ปีที่แล้ว

      @@johnmac4769 that’s awesome to hear John. I think a lot of the issues, including the ball bearing, turbo problems, stem from maintenance and not necessarily a complete design flaw. I feel the same way about the CP4 - I think since you are at 130 you are probably safe as long as you are using a good additive, I like Stanadyne a lot of people like hot shots, as long as it has adequate lubricity, which I’m sure you are already aware of having had your truck for so long. what I am saying is that if it doesn’t fill at 80 and you are doing a good job, keeping it lubricated, it’s a solid pump. If you’re worried about it though, check out power stroke tech talk with a rod on TH-cam. He is a good friend of mine and he has started to test the S & S diesel DCR conversion kit, which I may also do eventually just because it is fool proof. It’s not out to the general public yet but he has one and he says it is fantastic so far on his 2020.

    I like that color matched emblem. Still driving my 2014 F350 with 200k. Deleted and never an issue in 10 years with the exception of a vacuum pump seal 🎉 Get yourself some good springs - Ford has some updated springs, or splurge and go after market (I did not), the Fox shocks are good, but you can easily go with Bilstein 5100’s and be fine. The ones on there look tired. I also recommend the S&B cab mounts, huge improvement in shock absorption there, too. Been doing Amsoil 5w-40 forever and the thing barely wears. Then you can do what I did and go broke buying Banks goodies 😂 ditch those orange bags. Congratulations on the purchase. She’s got potential. Definitely undercoat it. You won’t be sorry.

      My man. Yeah I thin the shocks and springs are def a little worn out. I’d love to just get coilovers for the front. Everywhere I’ve been reading and all the videos I’ve watched said the S&B kit is the best so that’ll probably be what I go with. I’ve only had it since August so now that Winter’s over I can finally start doing some more with it since it doesn’t fit in my garage🤦‍♂️

    Get some archoil in ur fuel, it’ll clean ur turbo, egr and entire exhaust system. The stuff really works. Just went thru an entire bottle on a recent trip to Stone Mountain Georgia from Florida hauling a 13K lbs fifth wheel. I used the boost dosage 2 oz/10 gal of fuel. Made a world of difference. My regens were extended and u can see on my Banks super gauge the exhaust temp sensor readings were higher 400-600’s deg F while driving which tells me I was getting a good burn on the diesel cleaning out all that soot while giving me better efficiency. I tried Hot Shots secret for a while but didn’t work out for me. Now I can hear my turbo spool up and the engine runs steady with a nice growl when stepping on it. I have a 2011 F350 lariat with 89K on it. First owner. Also get ur glow plugs changed, it’ll warm up sooner specially in cold weather. I noticed that too.

    • @teddydiesel
      @teddydiesel  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ll definitely look into it. My EGR n DPF is deleted. It has a 5 inch straight pipe the whole way back so it seems like it runs pretty clean now but anything I can do to have it last and run better is a bonus.

      Yeah it makes no sense. Idk what is it either. It has a leveling spacer on top of the spring. It’s like an airbag but idk why it would have an airbag on the front.

    My 2011 242,000 give or take a few miles. Still going strong. Tow 14,000lb 5th wheel. Deleted it at 75,000 when the doc crapped out and it was cheaper to delete than replace. Anyway, still runs like the day I bought it.

    • @foxhunt1783
      @foxhunt1783 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@teddydiesel I think those 2011’s that have crapped out were heavily used and not maintained properly for extreme service. Also ppl chip the trucks for more power and if u don’t change other things to prevent issues, the weak links will take a crap. I think the biggest liability on these trucks is the EPA stuff they’ve gone over board. If you don’t maintain it properly for it to work as expected, the truck will work clogged up with soot, doing more regens and more back pressures and heat into the exhaust side of turbo taking out seals and bearings and cause exhaust valve failures. Also as the EGR clogs up, it upsets the emissions process creating other downstream problems which impact the entire engine operation. The CCV pressures will build up and create seal integrity issues and dump more oil into ur burn process creating more soot build up. It’s a chain reaction leading to eventual failures with these emission items causing trucks to work under more heat and less efficient. Even the oil and filter u use can impact this vicious cycle and create more soot. Best thing is replace oil within 5K and not risk it. Ford engineers get an F from me on their initial design for not properly analyzing failure mode and effects analysis of critical components that are laid out in a dependency mode of each other. If one component is acting up bcus of maintenance other components begin to suffer leading to catastrophic failure. Case in point, high pressure fuel pump. No excuse for a fuel pump to take out entire fuel delivery system, regardless if it was the customers fault. Design should contain failure to the failing component. SS diesel just came out with a bullet proof pump which takes this into account. Ford also went back to the engineering design table and redesigned valve heads and valves to reduce failures from the amount of back pressure exhaust and heat that was being experienced by 2011 and 2012 models bcus they did not factor in emission devices would be getting clogged up and running hotter over time taking out the engine. Ppl will be ppl and many will cheat on maintenance, that should be factored in the design to prevent catastrophic failures.
