60 years of not being recognised as a couple why do gay people want to be married? Don’t forget now you come under the same rules whether you’re married or not. Don’t forget a prenuptial as you can lose out financially as I found out to someone younger. 😢I had to remortgage my house even though it was mine & paid for before we met.
Yeah I'm frustrated too that my gay marriage doesn't get recognized like it does other ones. But I guess at the end of the day, it's about my relationship with a partner and not what others view it as, but still challenging to navigate. And that sounds like it was a tough situation for you to go through that. I hope you're doing well from it and able to rebuild.
You were brave to request marriage in the Roman Catholic church. Rejection was inevitable. Have you considered the Episcopal Church, which does allow same-sex marriage and is in general more LGBT friendly? The Episcopal Church has similar traditions as the Roman Catholic church so should feel similar to what you grew up with.
@alanaban1840 ? That same bible where Abraham knocks up his wife's handmaiden before kicking out her and his kid? That same bible where Jacob marries Rachel's sister before he can marry her? Like one man procreating with women other than his wife and one man having at least 2 wives simultaneously? Read your bible, sweetheart...
@@Dave1Claudius Maybe in US but I don't think UK MCC ministers are empowered to do the legals, just a s Service of Celebration after a Registry Office legal formality.
Kevmo, this life flys by before we know it. Don't trade the eternal for the temporal. GOD is a loving GOD but GOD is a holy GOD. HE sent HIS SON to redeem us from our sin but we must be willing to turn from the things HE prohibits. I know it's much more of a sacrifice for you because the heterosexual can at least have one partner but the homosexual can't, but that sacrifice will be worth it in the long run, I promise you. Don't listen to yourself or those who affirm you in sin, they don't love your soul, the ones who do will tell you the truth. 🙏🙏🙏
I don't really subscribe the belief that me being with a man is a sin anymore. To say a homosexual person can't have a partner implies a judgment that certain people are more worth than others to experience life, and for that reason alone, I feel confident that God supports me to be with whomever supports me. Same-sex relationships are not a sin.
@kevmo19 the problem with that is that your view is in direct contradiction to what GOD'S Word says. Now, you have the freedom to disobey, but not without the consequences of that, and to believe that there will be none is reckless, akin to jumping off a building and believing you'll be ok because the laws of gravity don't apply to you. GOD has given me a love for the souls of mankind and so it breaks my heart when I think about where this rebellion will lead. The other thing is that GOD can change your desires, HE has mine, I was addicted to sex and wanted to sleep with every beautiful woman I encountered, not to mention my porn addiction. When HE delivered me from all of it, 5 years ago, I felt like a prisoner let out of a cell. I know I don't know you but I do care about your soul, I beg you, please seek HIM while there is still time.
@@stevehernandez1357 for clarity, I very much do still believe in God, but not the one that judges me for being my authentic self. Accepting my sexuality and living a life of truth is what I know God has intended for me, not living in fear of judgment for the sexuality I've been given. I'm a deserving human worthy of love and connection just like everyone else without compromising my truth.
@kevmo19 what we can't do is make a GOD according to our own liking, that is no GOD at all and in fact an idol, we must accept HIS revelation of HIMSELF to us. We were all born into this world with sin and certain proclivities, like I mentioned earlier with my promiscuity. If I want to partake in the Kingdom of CHRIST, I must die to myself and conform to HIS will. As far as HIS love for you, HE proved it on the cross, your love for HIM is proved by your obedience. I tell you with love and in the SPIRIT, and based on the authority of GOD'S very Word, you are headed for destruction. Please friend, turn! No sin is worth your soul, like I said in my original post to you, don't trade the eternal for the temporal!, GOD has an unimaginably glorious existence for those who are willing to lay down this earthly life. And it will be forever!
There are plenty of religions out there that support gay relationships including Buddhism and Christianity. I'm not sure which religion or version of God you're referring to, but I'd encourage you to challenge the belief that your obedience (or lack thereof) will condemn you. You're speaking pretty vague, and this is the toxic mindset that I broke from, and why I make the content that I do so that the next person exploring their sexuality doesn't need to feel alone and shamed by living their truth.

I haven't heard of them, but that's good to know - thank you!
You are not a Catholic/ all through that is the policy of the church/ marriage is between woman and man not man man and man/ read you bible sir

The MCC church and the First Congressional Church of Church will also.
With the Episcopal church you still have all the pomp but without the guilt.
Sadly, like many of us, you are hoping and praying for the impossible. Look your net wider,,,,,
Yeah looking back I'm not suprrised we got turned down. Frustrating, but all we can do is move on.
The MCC and Frist Congressional Church of Christ will marry you
