The last few Autumns I've verticutted, aerated, reseeded and top dressed but this year I'm going to just do the last cuts at a higher setting as it's looking deep green and lush at the moment and give an Autumn feed and see what happens....I hope it will look pretty good come Spring when I'll give the lawn a proper once over. (what I'm really saying is "I can't be arsed to do all the work this Autumn"😉)
Yeah - you know what? I've finally got it looking fairly good after a difficult year so I might leave the scarifier. Maybe some areas but not all of it. Take care!
I tell you what bro,The Grass People products is really good,I used their fertilizer and it made a massive difference,I already showed you before and after pictures, great video again Next uo some grass seed from them
What heights do you mow your lawns? I've got a mainly ryegrass lawn out the front, and a mostly fescue out the back with some rye in it, about 20% rye. Recently bought a new mower more capable of shorter mowing than my last one so I'm thinking about mowing a little shorter next season. Although I do love the striping effect of a longer lawn!
I cut it between 30mm and 40mm usually - that's my rye space. Usually cut the bent/fescue in the back at 15mm. Going to be bringing the cut up over the next month though
No many like the bush! 🤣 The only reason I've not yet removed it is because of the light. It's possibly something I'll consider doing in spring (it's too big a job for now 😅)
How late is too late to renovate the lawn? I want to kill off my lawn and restart it. I haven’t been around to do until now. Am i too late? Would really appreciate any input.
It's actually quite decent. I know this space is only small, but it still had 2/3 bars left and I did a fair few passes. I renovated the verge at the same time too and by the end of that it was down to 1 bar. So all told, not bad
That's pretty good to know I've been interested in the same one but always wondered if the batteries had enough power or had enough charge. Might have to get one now !😅@@NoviceGardener
Neighbours be like "He's at it again" 🤣👍
🤣
I must be that odd neighbour who's out all the time!

Not a bad idea at all! I think I'm just lucky to have got this in before the awful weather we've had this week! 😅
Once a year is always a decent shout

Nice one!
Their feed is really quick at kicking in! Going to be getting some more down this weekend hopefully now that we have some germination
@@NoviceGardener yh mate definitely,I need to get some seeds and some winter fertilizer
The bush lives!! ❤the neighbours will run over the grass and knock the light down😅
That's one of my thoughts exactly! 😅

Did you use the fast or slow acting autumn winter feed from grass people? Struggling to work out which is best…
I used the fast acting one. Only because I'll be getting on more regularly over the winter.
@@NoviceGardener cheers
I’d get rid of the bush. All grass would look better and make it so much easier for lawn care.
i would have ripped that light out as well.

Hey! I learn a lot from your videos, thanks for sharing! How much compost do you put down per square metre? I’m looking to seed from scratch.
Depends how you put it down. A compost spreader will spread it over about 20sqm, but you’ll get a tad less with a rake
@@NoviceGardener thanks - how big is the bag you were working with?
What’s the name of the compost you use?
Clover 👍🏻
Is two weeks long enough after the weed killer to sow seed?
Yep, not a problem after a couple 👍🏻

I'd say too late I'd wait till spring but I'm not expert
Yep, too late to do that process now
@@NoviceGardener thanks all for the response
how longs the battery last on the einhell?

Will you not cut it for a few weeks ?
Yep, going to leave it a few weeks. Will give it a cut and once the new seedlings start to come through. I'll give it a feed.
