Love my Water Sprite. It grows sooo fast & spreads out providing cover. Definitely my number one plant for any tank

This is my favorite plant. Started with one plant and now have big full bushes in all my tanks.

One of my first plants, arrived broken to bits. Threw it in the tank floating as a Hail Mary. It made a ton of little baby plants and now I have them all over

I got a water sprite after I bought some Java Moss and saw a leaf trying to escape. Put it in the substrate, and its become the biggest plant in the aquarium.

Mine fell.appart the other day.I let her grow and only trimmed the tips and the area where the river current in the tank was flowing.Big mistake. After 8 month the plant was massive and beautiful. But it had all these little independent parts with its own roots. Then, suddenly everything was floating on too of the tank in all its pieces. No fish had uprooted the plants -according to them and their innocent looks, lol.Now I have plenty of independent little watersprite plant to regrow again. But this time, I will trim more often to get a strong stem, lol.

I find that there is some confusion between Water Sprite and Water Wysteria. The leaves are very similar, however, Water Sprite is a true fern, and each new leaf unfurls from the crown. Like any fern, it produces new plantlets on decaying leaves which can be removed and planted or left to float. Water Wysteria, on the other hand is a stem plant and new leaves emerge at the top as the plant attains height. It can also be left to float, and cuttings can be taken anywhere on the stem and planted. Water Sprite, when planted is often narrow leafed, but if left to float the leaves become broader.

I see you have little surface agitation. Can I keep water sprite as floaters even though I have strong surface agitation from my two Fuval FX6 canister filters?

I am surprised that you didn't add this one to you video, "My Top 10 Easy Beginner Aquarium Plants". It can grow too large for smaller tanks. I had two plants that got over 24 inches tall!

If you have one good leaf you can float it and it will make baby plants on that leaf. It is a GREAT floating plant in breeding tanks.

Wouldnt recommend water sprite in a nano. Its literally my fastest growing plant out of all my fast growing plants. Literally went from 3 little plants floating and within 3 weeks its covered have my 37 gal, taking over the tank and roots have grown so long that they touch the substrate. My tank is a little over 19in deep

I've never gotten it to grow planted. I have grown it floated, but after a few months they always melt away. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I think the easiest plant is the pogostemon octopus. It’s the only plant I haven’t been able to kill no matter what.

I have 2 tanks. First one was 35 gallon and I added water sprite and it flourished. Got a 55 and spread some to that tank. Now that bunch is turning white and dying. Not sure what the difference is. Both fertilized based on the directions. Anyone have any ideas why this one is dying?

Mine is touching the water surface but is planted into the substrate, should I cut it or let it float?

How much lightning do they need? I put my light on for only 5 hours a day in my African chilids tank

12 hours is too much. Water Sprite grows like nuts. Especially if you havea cycled tank and have good nitrogen source.
