I always wondered - hundred of kingdoms have risen and fallen in the stolen lands (almost a thousand if Nyrissa's comments are correct). What kind of idiot walks in thinking "this time it will be different. My kingdom will survive".
The main character of Kingmaker is quite an idiot.

"They were just NPC's in some random backstory. I'm a PLAYER CHARACTER!"
"Oh, so thousands of adventurers have sufferede terrible fates here? Hmm, I wonder if my bard will get laid in this adventure..."

I never finished the Kingmaker video game but I finished Wrath of the Righteous and loved it. I am currently DMing a 5E game and after that campaign is over I will be running a Kingmaker campaign and screwing with the timeline so that the group will be in a position to influence Wrath of the Righteous. Thanks for making these videos.

Thanks for the video. The art you chose was perfect. I'm currently GMing Abomination Vaults but afterward I hope I have the chance to do Kingmaker.

"May the Truth be your guiding light."
I had no idea of this place, I still have so much to learn of this world's lore before I kick off my own campaigns, under another name. But that saying, that was the clincher, for a point of inspiration to write up a character.

My group is wrapping up our campaign of almost 4 years soon. I would really like to run this AP for them, but while I really like the downtime/kingdom management rules I know it isn't everyone's favorite.

I'm very much looking forward to running it! I have always wanted a long term game to play, so I'm going an online game will work better than my local group lol

@@SirVertigo I could see that. We do some play-by-text stuff sometimes.

@@SirVertigo I ran it through the end of Varnhold Vanishing in PF1. Kingdom Building gets old but was a fun AP.

You can run this without the kingdom management rules. The AP has alternate "kingdom in the background" rules that lets your players remain adventureres.

Vertigo - off topic, but which Pathfinder AP would you say is "the best", all things considered?
I've played KM & WOTR, and was wandering if there was something better out there.
For an experienced Pathfinder player, if you could recommend ONE AP, which would it be?

    • @SirVertigo
      @SirVertigo  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

That is a very hard question to answer honestly. Much of my ap knowledge isn't from playing them so it's hard to know which adventures I would enjoy as a Gm. Plus, I may like different things than you, so the settings I enjoy are probably completely different. That said, here's my top 3.
Curse of the crimson throne has been some of the best and most interesting ro my group has ever had. Especially considering my group hated RP before this adventure.
Strange aeons is awesome, but I used alot of community suggestions to tweak it into a proper cthulhu style game.
And My last, isn't an adventure path, it's a module, but Night of the gray death is an amazing playthrough, it has the perfect balance of RP and almost overwhelming danger!
