I think this is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.... I took a couple friends up from Ohio to Windsor Canada to see him perform a solo concert...and to this day, they still talk about how amazing he was.
My wife and I saw him a few years back. We’ve both seen tons of live shows both together and separately, but we both hold that performance near the top of our respective lists. We’re surprising our four kids (13 yr old twin boys, our 10 yr old middle guy, and 8 yr old daughter) with a show this November. I can’t wait for their reactions. We all love Bruce! I know I’m biased, but I got some pretty cool kids! 🙂
The lyrics, musicianship of this song, and every other on this "album" make it a true classic. One of the world's best guitarists, songwriters, humanitarians, a great teacher.
I love this song, and the whole album is one of my favorites, if not the favorite, but I only recently fully realized some of what makes it so special. Booker T Jones ran the recording sessions and chose and brought in the players. Bassist Edgar Meyer makes this tune extra special, as he does throughout the album. I knew Edgar years ago, and have known of his abilities and followed his recording exploits for ages, yet I only recently read the fine print in this CD, a favorite since I bought it in the early '90s. I slapped myself when I read the musicians' names. Silly me. Of course. Edgar's playing and improvisation makes many of the tunes on this album extra extra special. Thanks, Edgar--you made a great singer-songwriter sound even better.
I love the pounding of hooves I love engines that roar I love the wild music of waves on the shore And the spiral perfection of a hawk when it soars Love my sweet woman down to the core There's roads and there's roads And they call, can't you hear it? Roads of the earth And roads of the spirit The best roads of all Are the ones that aren't certain One of those is where you'll find me Till they drop the big curtain Hear the wind moan In the bright diamond sky These mountains are waiting Brown-green and dry I'm too old for the term But I'll use it anyway I'll be a child of the wind Till the end of my days Little round planet In a big universe Sometimes it looks blessed Sometimes it looks cursed Depends on what you look at obviously But even more it depends on the way that you see Hear the wind moan In the bright diamond sky These mountains are waiting Brown-green and dry I'm too old for the term But I'll use it anyway I'll be a child of the wind Till the end of my days
Please play this at my funeral. Always with you Mischa.

Never forget, bought the cassette version at the Peace Nook, 1999, Columbia, MO. One of my all time favorite albums. LOVE. God Bless
I landed in Columbia, Mo in 1970.. I was there for a couple of years.. great college town and the music was stellar !

This song stopped me in my tracks the first time I heard it in 1991. Thirty-three years later it still does.

This is such a beautiful song! I can totally relate.. ;)
That my friend and my song is awsome i play it every day keep it up
this song speaks to my soul
Love, love, love
I love the pounding of hooves
I love engines that roar
I love the wild music of waves on the shore
And the spiral perfection of a hawk when it soars
Love my sweet woman down to the core
There's roads and there's roads
And they call, can't you hear it?
Roads of the earth
And roads of the spirit
The best roads of all
Are the ones that aren't certain
One of those is where you'll find me
Till they drop the big curtain
Hear the wind moan
In the bright diamond sky
These mountains are waiting
Brown-green and dry
I'm too old for the term
But I'll use it anyway
I'll be a child of the wind
Till the end of my days
Little round planet
In a big universe
Sometimes it looks blessed
Sometimes it looks cursed
Depends on what you look at obviously
But even more it depends on the way that you see
Hear the wind moan
In the bright diamond sky
These mountains are waiting
Brown-green and dry
I'm too old for the term
But I'll use it anyway
I'll be a child of the wind
Till the end of my days
great big love ❤️

i have mixed feelings about Bruce. I know, I know...you're not allowed to..
Diversity of emotion, diversity of thought, diversity in a garden and in the culture at large is not a bad thing. :)
I have mixed feelings.......about the weather ?.
but none about Bruce !
@@rockinrollinntrollin616 The weather affects my moods, but Bruce NEVER does!
