    Gauff is maturing both physically and mentally and this match really illustrates that. Well done ladies on an entertaining, hard-fought match.

      Coco is maturing physically but she is going backwards mentally. She has no confidence in her game. When 3-0 up in the second set with two breaks of serve, she completely disintegrated for no reason, losing 9 of the next 10 games.
      She served 15 double faults and made 40+ unforced errors. She won only because Sabalenka was even worse.

      Sabalenka comes off as trying so hard to prove that she’s fighting, or fighting harder via her screams. Almost as if to martyr herself. I get that the screaming can likely help with intensity and rhythm…but in some instances with her, I feel like it locks her into one dimensional ball bashing.

    • @zweigackroyd7301

      @@TheArriviste Occasional grunts or sounds are perfectly understandable. But at those decibels it is sapping energy. And many players grunt like that when hitting drop shots or routine rally shots. I cheer when they lose.

      You judge the highlights. If you had watched the whole match you would think very differently.
      Sabalenka was atrocious and having won the first set, from 3-0 up in the second with two breaks of serve Coco disintegrated getting down on herself for absolutely no reason and losing 9 of the next 10 games.
      By 2-3 in the third set she had made 34 unforced errors, her god-awful forehand being mostly to blame. She served 15 double-faults.
      She won only because her attempt to lose was thwarted by Sabalenka's superiority in that regard: Sabelenka's double fault count was 18 and her unforced error count was even higher than Coco's.

      Yes, the wind wasn't on their side. But as you imply, it was rarely as much as awkward.
      Sabalenka wasn't bothered by it at all. It was Coco who kept using it as an excuse in the (pretty extraordinary) period of her meltdown.
      (I am a fan of Coco - whom I think charming and very talented - but watching her matches is torture.)

      @marcusgraham5084 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      She won that's all that matters. If she had lost, y'all would have been finding fault either way.
      Sablenka is one of the toughest players currently; not to be taken lightly. For Coco to get past her, is an amazing feet in it self.
      NOTE: Y'ALL NEED TO SHUT THE HELL UP AND LEAVE COCO ALONE. I'M SURE IF COCO WAS A WHITE WOMAN, Y'ALL WOULD HAVE MADE EXCUSES FOR HER (AND DON'T LET ME NOT TO BRING RACE INTO IT, WHEN PEOPLE LIKE Y'ALL HAVE BEEN DOING IT FOR YEARS, ESPECIALLY AGAINST SERENA.
      MARK MY WORDS; COCO WILL WIN A GRANDSLAM. AND WHEN SHE STARTS TO WIN, SHE WILL NOT BE LIKE Y'ALL OVER-HYPED, OVER SENSATIONALIZED, ONE HIT WONDERS. ESPECIALLY LIKE BIANCA ANDRESSCU, FROM WHOM I'M STILL WAITING ON ANOTHER GRANDSLAM. I MEAN COME ON; ITS 2022 AND NOT 2019 ANYMORE.

    • @jackburgess274
      @jackburgess274 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You didn't watch the match.
      Coco's forehand was a shambles, and responsible for almost all of her 40+ unforced errors.
      Her serve was not "a little shaky": she served 15 double faults.
      She won only because Sabalenka was atrocious.
      She was almost as bad in her next match. In just two sets, both of which she lost, she made 37 unforced errors. Almost all of them were on her forehand.
      She has absolutely no chance of winning the US Open.

    Coco we need to have a Skype call. First set beautiful job. Let's talk about the second set. 3 games to 0 but then you got this expression on your face like you were scared. Then the temperament started to come through and it seems like the frustration that was on the other side of the court made its way to your side. One thing is you gotta be able to bounce back from errors and shake it off don't let it affect your game. However you got back on the grind zoned in and made ot happen in the tie break. But don't ease up keep your foot on the gas and be at home resting for a third set when you could end it in two. Congratulations! Now let's go bring the juice to Halep in the next round.
