You can put them on a northern window and the morning sun doesn't harm the plant, I have 6 and one for the window and it does very well it grew to almost 27 inches in two years. Don't put it before a afternoon sun windows. Watering I do once a week in the summer, dry them out and then water in winter time. Fertilizer I do dried chicken manure in the soil, not on top but burry it under the soil.

mine got too much direct sunlight so the leaves are yellowing. I brought it inside and now wondering how to make it green again
