    This was almost the only positive video I could find about majesty palms. It was a real bummer after buying one on the clearance rack and then looking up care. Thanks for being positive, I'm sure I can save these babies, not sure why everyone is such a downer about them.

    YES YES YES....exactly what happened to me...at lowes got a bunch of palms on clearance a few months ago..for about $10 bucks... and it created another hobby because i never thought having house plants would be so enjoyable....i also have ADHD and found caring for plants is one of many tools to manage the ADHD.. also picked up plants from Wayfair which i would have never thought of a place to buy live plants but the plants are much more heftier and healthier than any full priced plant i picked up a my local big box..I think I paid around $25 although the prices range..They had a much wider selection too..and had no issues being mailed..I"m glad i know what those little shoots are... this video was really good..you covered everything..I also had to pick up a humidifier because where i live I had no choice...and guess i need to get a grow light too....patience is a b####

    I’ve just planted a palm in my garden I live in England I am the summer is just around the corner please God but I know that these plants are very tough since I’ve planted it in the ground I’m not sure if it’s my imagination or the ends of the leaves are going yellow which means it possibly needs more water I don’t know but my friend said I need to soak it so I’ve given it a fair amount of water I planted it so that it’s covered I’ve put some soil around the edges and on top once I planted it And pressed it down firmly and now I’m praying for it to grow every day

    Thank you! I just found a neighbor had put one next to the community recycling bin. It has new growth on both pawns despite lots of dead leaves and a large healthy pawn (think that’s what it’s called) Broke my heart to see it almost died. I took it home and cut off the dead. Now to fertilize and water and hydrate. Problem is, I live in Colorado so even though the weather temp is perfect, humidity may not be enough. Thankfully we do get tropical storms in summer. I don’t know what I’ll do for winter - I don’t have many plants to crowd it. Tips?

    Also I ALWAYS pot tropicals with Terrarium layers this is my personal absolute best way to increase humidity for trops. Grab a pot, cover drainage hole with mesh screening. Then do at least 3/4 in. Of pebbles (I use aquarium gravel), cover that entire layer with mesh, add 3/4in. Of horticultural charcoal, then an inch of spaghnum moss, then soil. And use QUALITY soil!! My personal fav is Foxfarm Coco Loco.
    Using this method to pot trops you don't need a Humidifier at all and always keep them near other plants since plants share humidity!

There was nothing wrong with them except that the Umbrella tree was missing some leaves. Love your energy and bringing attention (ahem) to ADHD/neurodivergence and how plants and plantcare can be so therapeutic for our brains.
    As an ADHDer & autistic person myself it definitely is for mine and have amassed quite a collection since COVID-19 hit and we had to spend more indoors (definitely a nightmare for us restless, easily bored ADHDers who love being with our friends and human contact!)
    So plants helped massively with anxiety and to give me something to do with my hands & not just go on my phone...although I do spend an inordinate amount of time on eBay & TH-cam looking at plant stuff now oc. And get a bit anxious that I need to actually be looking after plants I have better rather than shopping for loads more! #NDPlantMamaStrugglesAreReal
    Thanks for keeping it real as well in terms of the challenges of having memory issues! And love the indoor greenhouse wish I had space for that. 😍😍 Hope in next move I'll be able to get a glass cabinet with grow lights scenario going on. Especially with all my orchids. Keep on spreading awareness & thanks for your presence in the plant community. 🙏🏾❤️👌🏾💪🏾

    I bought a clearance palm from Lowes. Outside humidity is low and I had these same issues. I am at the stage of adding a grow light and a slow release fertilizer to our whole collection of plants. This video helped me make adjustments to the plants and the pot, huddling them, and using the pebble approach. Since house is kept at 40% humidity, I tried all the mist techniques and I can confirm they do not work. Nonetheless, my palm is better than her last one, so we still have hope!

I wanted to save them , however My husband is a manager at a store and told me they get the plants from other outsourced comapanie which in fact they do have the ability to price down. The facts are they would rather throwaway Companies are greedy and even though they could save and mark down ..Take a look out back of the store...They would rather throw away... During the summer it'll do well. My palms love being outside but what's the current temp over in the UK now? They're not a fan of being cold.. good luck!🌻

    My Home Depot’s majesty palm went dry and crispy after a few days outside on my balcony in full sun 😢 the tag said Full Sun I’m watering it more to keep the soil moist instead of waiting for it to dry then water 🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

    Love this video, the only plant I have that is struggling is the majesty, browning, yellowing. I bought a grow light, repotted. I’m going to repot again, cut off all the brown and feed it. Kroger also had a small plant section for sale. Bought a few orchids for $5 2 weeks ago.

    • @TheAdhdGardener
      @TheAdhdGardener  ปีที่แล้ว

      Orchids will do well. It's the winter time n the palm plants hate the winter. It's dry, very low humidity n cold. All 3 things the palm hates😑 I question why do they even sell those plants

    Great video! I just scored BIG time at Lowe's. I was going to make return and find myself in the gardening section. I couldn't believe all the plants on sale. I walked out feeling like I had a green thumb! Lol!
