Djokovic's mental strength is off the charts. Dude always cranks up another gear when his back is against the wall.

    • @pureffm
      @pureffm 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

It is the adapted ketogenic diet with slow processing fructose instead of glucose. Since he doesn't run on fast acting carbs he basically just outlasts his opponents. After 3 sets usually the strength relationship is inverted. Musetti ran out of gas just like many opponents before. This is why he hates players like Medvedev who don't run out.

He lost the Aus Open, then lost in Italy and Geneva. Think there was some talk that Sinner and Alcaraz had passed him...was wondering myself whether the flame was starting to dim. Sinner, Alcaraz, maybe Medvedev still loom but, like you said, the "pilot light," dormant for awhile, is getting brighter.

    Musetti is a true gentleman.
When just after an extremely tiring game in the 5th set, the unsympathetic umpire called Djokovic on a time warning and canceled his first serve...Musetti said, No, let him make a first serve, both of us are tired from the last game.
The umpire didn't agree, but kudos to Musettis sportsmanship spirit, in spite of being behind in the match.

Djokovic has played some iconic matches of history, but even so, this Musetti match would rank among the Top 10 of his best matches because:
    - Firstly, the way Musetti was playing after the 2nd set, easily, top 5 level or better.
    - The huge momentum shift in Musettis favor and Djokovic being gutted after botching chances to close out the tie-break.
    - The time the match was played at
    - The duration of the match
    - Djokovic age factor and lack of match practice this year

The highlight clips aren't created by tennis fans. These are pro editors with the quest and mission to limit them to a precise 3 minutes regardless of the length or excitement level of the match. The priority isn't to fully summarize or highlight the key moments in the match but rather it's to make sure they don't exceed their licensed contractural, commercial limit of 3 minutes. Don't want to give too much away for free on YT.

Novak Djokovics' greatest strength is NOT his mental strength as a lot of people think, and even experts and pundits seem to agree.
There are innumerable players who will fight tooth and nail until the last ball. Novaks greatest strength is his clarity of thought in the most stressful and pressure filled situation.
You can blindly keep fighting and putting the balls back and keep losing. Novak Djokovic, on the other hand, is the games greatest ever problem solver.
Even in the most stressful situations and when the opponent has the upper hand, Djokovic keeps probing for weaknesses or cracks in the opponents game, and when he finally finds one, he goes in for the kill.
Rafa is like a raging bull. He keeps coming at you till the last ball. He is the games greatest fighter!
Novak, on the other hand, waits in the shadows, like a preying wolf. He tests you, probes you, waits for the cracks to appear, and then you lose to him.

That was an unreal comeback. I thought he was screwed after that shocking 3rd set slump following the 2nd set missed opportunity disappointment. Then somehow he found another stick of dynamite up his sleeve and smashed into another gear to destroy Musetti. What a turnaround, what a champion. Don't rule him out just yet, he's still got it. Well they have to fit the whole thing in 3 minutes. It's a touch job to produce these high quality and comprehensive highlights.
