The snowmen and snowflakes turned out really well. Have to agree with you that the snowman take a lot of time to do. Hardest part is doing all the eyes, noses and buttons (getting the right small rocks and getting them in the right place). I thought the same thing that they take too much time to sell. Just have to make great gifts to family and friends. Chris
Yes it is, Chris B from the video. I am surprised the fossils made it through the vib and turned out great for the hats. You will have to look for some jet black rocks for next years hats.
I just ordered my own a mitten and angel can’t wait to see them! Love the snow flakes a snow men very nice! I was in a small shop in Tawas where a man took his rocks and framed his paintings with reclaimed wood and the rocks super cool and creative. Love seeing what people do with their rocks so many talented artists 🧑🎨. Merry Christmas 🎄 ❤🙏.
Thanks for the video. They look real nice. I used to make a lot of metal art with my CNC plasma cutter. I watch your videos nearly every day. You sure have a eye for the hunt.
New ornaments! I got two sets of your ornaments last year. They're beautifully crafted and even better in person. Thanks so much for making these beautiful ornaments.
the snowmen are so cute! i also really like the petoskey snowflake, the patterns are really cool and "snowflakes like", it doesn't matter if the stone is greyish imo
Those were both great ornaments Rob. Those will probably be handed down through your family for generations. We have some ornaments that were made by my mother in law, her sister and my parents. I’m 76 and still have one that my grand father got for me when I was a child and I have one that I made in kindergarten. I just started polishing a large Petoskey about the size of a large baking potatoe for a friend who is going to give it to his son who found it in the first place.
Sounds like a nice Petoskey. Nice big ones are hard to come by. We have a sled made of popsicle sticks that Nancy made in elementary school. It's well done for a kid, but still looks like popsicle sticks, so I always try to hide it on the back of the tree. Every year, Nancy moves it the most prime front spot of the tree. It has become a little game for us each year. Don't tell her, but I kind of like that little sled.
I love these! At the end, when you said we couldn't have any of them, my reaction was, "Aaaw, but I WANT one!" (I also want one of your Petoskey turtles!) You are so talented, and I love watching you create cool things out of rocks. 😊
I think I do too. What about the scarves? Do you think they should be black like the hat, or should they be more colorful? I have a thin slab of green that I was thinking about trying.
I don't have an online store, but did you know that I sell things in a local shop? I sell stone crosses, little turtles, guitar picks, beads that fit Pandora bracelets, heart shaped pendants, other pendants, and Christmas ornaments. They don't have an online store, but will work with you if you call or email. olivetbookandgift.com
I like the snowmen but I think the scarf rock should be more narrow. I agree with you about the overhang. It looks better your way. I think the snowflakes are fantastic! 😊
@ the height of the scarf as viewed . It’s nice as is, I just think making it slightly more narrow would be more aesthetically appealing. But it’s just a thought. Your snowman, your choice😊
That was one of the silicified Petoskeys that are much more white than other Petoskeys. They're hard to find without having a bunch of porous areas. This one was pretty good, but didn't look so white when compared with the white quartz.
I wonder if knife river flint would be a good hat material. It's a translucent chert that is very dark brown to black usually and takes a beautiful polish. I'd send you some to try but I won't be home again until after the years end.
Sounds like it would polish up really well, but I think the hat should be opaque. I think I have some black obsidian around I could use if I wanted translucent, but I don't think that would look great. I'll keep my eye out for a black rock from the beach next year.
Mine is a Mad Bomber hat. The outside is some sort of black and red plaid wool and it's lined with rabbit fur. It's actually way too warm. I only wear it if it's extremely cold out, usually when blowing snow. It's hard to hear anything when it's on too, so it works as hearing protection while blowing snow. madbomber.com/product/maroon-plaid-wool-with-brown-rabbit-fur/ The snowman is wearing cladopora. I doubt it's very warm.

Awesome work!
Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Those snowmen are totally adorable, and I liked the petosky snowflake
Your family will get great keepsakes with those ornaments. Well done Rob.
These are absolutely precious!!!!!

I didn't mind the grayish Petoskey until I saw it next to the really white quartz ones.
Adorable!
I love the petosky snowflake!!!❤
Very cute!
How cute! You are so creative, Rob! Merry Christmas to you and your family! 😊
No, not creative. I just copied someone else's creativity.
❄️⛄️ very cute ⛄️❄️
Beautiful ornaments. Merry Christmas Rob.

I love those snowflakes and will be watching next year. I need some for Christmas to go with my mittens from last year.😊
I'll see what I can do.
Thanks, very nice and cute. I always enjoy seeing your work. You make me think about things.
The snowmen are my favorite!
fun video, Rob!
Who "nose"? You do Rob, you do!😅😂😅😂 Excellent craftsmanship as always!👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Ha!
Excellent work Rob!!
Those are awesome 👍 They will someday be family heirlooms. Have a great Christmas Rob.
There are very beautiful I would buy them
Both are great! I would like to see a pudding stone Christmas Tree, unless you already done it and I missed that episode.
No, I haven't done a puddingstone Christmas tree. I try to use green rocks for the trees.

@@MichiganRocks Thank you!
@@MichiganRocksthanks for the answer on where to get your turtles. I always wanted one
Those are so cute! I love the little snowmen!
Those turned out nice Rob. I actually liked the petosky snowflake a lot. It was like snowflakes in a snowflake with the pattern.
I like the Petoskey snowflake too. I just thought it was whiter until I saw it next to a really white rock.
Well done , fabulous effort and ideas. Love the creativity.
Very cool
Merry Christmas Rob! ♥
I love the ornaments! I do prefer the black hat on the snowman instead of the red. Great video as always! 🎄☃️❄️
I think I do too. What about the scarves? Do you think they should be black like the hat, or should they be more colorful? I have a thin slab of green that I was thinking about trying.
I think using a stripey rock (one of your favourites) would look great for the scarves. It would mimic the look of the wool in a real scarf. ❤️
@@victoriadawydiuk4172 I never thought of using a stripy rock. Next year, that's what I'll do (if I remember).
So cute!
So cute!! You are so talented.
Such cute snowmen and snowflakes ❄️
These are great. Merry Christmas!
Love, love these! Please next year make a Snowman, and I will definately purchase one Buddy! Merry Christmas!
Don't hold your breath for snowmen.
OK boo- hoo lol
Oh wow😍, i would love to get those. Hopefully u will make those for next year and i will try to get those
Really like that petoskey star❤
I might make some snowflakes next year, but the snowmen take too long. We'll see, I might make a few. They were fun to do.
@MichiganRocks i hope so, love those snowmen. But i do understand they take lot of time 👍but great to c those❤️
Rob, you are so very talented!!
Beautiful work. ❤
Love it you do great work.
Thanks.
Very nice!
I like the petoski snowflake…
I was just gonna beg for the Petoskey snowflake!! 😢 But please do another next year, I can wait!! Merry Christmas to you & your family 🎄🧑🎄🎄
There won't be any more Petoskey snowflakes, but maybe plain white ones. Finding a silicified Petoskey that isn't full of holes is difficult.
@@MichiganRocks well phooey!! It's so pretty but I get it!! 😍
As always, the figures you create from rocks are so cute! Your family are so lucky to reap the benefits of your labor!
Oh Rob you sadden all of us by not allowing us to purchase this thru your shop. What a talent. I want one of each plus a turtle!
Great job!! ✌️❤️

The snowman is wearing cladopora. I doubt it's very warm.
What a puzzle, you must love small things? Must have been quit a job?? The result is beautiful though, thank you.
No, not necessarily. With ice cream, for example, a big bowl is much better than a small bowl.
Would love to get a snow man for the wife she love snow men and to have a Rob original would even be better do you autograph them
As I said in the video, I'm not selling these.
Awesome work! Merry Christmas to you and your family!
