  • Heyo! (this is a real vid this time I promise 😂)
Extremely happy to bring you a new video based on one of the Reverends stories
had this one in the works for a while, the narration was actually recorded back in 2021 but then all that computer trouble happened
huge thanks to Kiwi and unhelpful git for some of the new models seen in the video
and an absolutely huge thank you to Ace of Trains who has once again done an absolutely stellar job with the music!
hope you enjoy and hope to see you all again soon!
Oh I almost forgot I need to fucking swear to keep my comments, fuckin TH-cam man

I love how the graphics so closely match that of the TV series. And the story changes felt right for the model series. Sir Topham Hatt running the Skarloey Railway instead of the Thin Controller, and Sir Handel deciding he was actually fine so he wouldn't be taken apart because the crew likely wouldn't have been able to replicate that with the models at the time

This. IS. Classic Thomas! This PERFECTLY resembles the magical season that is Season 4, from the orchestral soundtrack to the identical models. I especially adore the little details, like how the narrow gauge engines tend to have a rolling stock behind them or having the shots zoomed in on front view referencing the eye mechs not being able to fit in the engines, James with Duck's higher pitched whistle, the little Rusty ditty while the SKR theme plays, and the steam effects too. The writing and narration is FLAWLESS. This is easily my new favourite

What a way to refit the original story into a Season 4 episode! Fantastic job! Plus, the little change where Sir Handel is concerned should help put the kids' minds at ease... and give them a giggle. 😉

This is really good! Think my favourite detail is the choice to not have Talyllyn mentioned by name at the end, as was the case with other real life engines in the series. Definitely a nice touch. The effort you put in to have these adaptations as close to actual TVS episodes as possible is always wonderful to see.

@@enterprisinga1471 The reason Stepney is referred to by name is because Britt Alcroft mistakenly believed that Awdry had created him, and even attempted to sue the Bluebell Railway, with their mascot engine having seemingly committed copyright infringement against…itself.
Two other reason is because Stepney, of course, stars in a few stories, and it would be very hard not to refer to him by name, especially in a show that was starting to gain money through merchandise.

I love this adaptation! Seeing Talyllyn at the end was brilliant, as well as Railway with a Heart of Gold accompanying him; they also could have done the same with Rheneas' prop for Dolgoch, after filming Smudger. Not mentioning Tallylyn by name also feels in line with Britt Allcroft's weird habit of barely name-dropping real engines like Flying Scotsman and City of Truro. Plus, having Sir Handel not being taken apart would've totally made sense in the model series. I'm really enjoying your stories and am eager for more to come! And I hope I can write good ones.

You know, in the q&a with Sir Topham Hatt audiotape, it reveals that the thin controller exists in the television series in the classic era and the NWR and skarloey railway form a joint holding company called Sodor Railways to explain why Sir Topham Hatt is also in charge of the Skarloey Railway. So, my theory is that the thin controller, whether it be Mr. Sam or Mr. Percival, serves as a sort of deputy controller and thus Sir Topham Hatt’s right hand man.
