- Well it's certainly been a while hasn't it? I started this project back in January as a combination of two Christopher Awdry Stories I felt worked well off each other.
Thank You to everyone who helped out! Especially to TheBlueSingle, Karnutty and TheCaledonianEngines for their Superb model exports and to Severn Valley Studios for once again delivering an excellent soundtrack.

Ok this is great! I don't know if you have heard of this story, but your story instantly reminded me of a true story. When Thomas Cochrane was a young officer in the Royal Navy, he recounted a story about their ship's parrot. The parrot had learned some of the sailors whistles and could repeat them with excellent accuracy. One day, some ladies came aboard for dinner. Just as one of the ladies was being carefully pulled aboard with a rope, the parrot whistled the signal for "let go." The sailor pulling on the rope instantly let go! The poor woman was soaked!
Cochrane went on to being the most daring and successful English sea captain during the Napoleonic Wars, and Wars for Latin American independence.
Ahah That's fun one, must have been where Christopher got his inspiration for his story, Glad you enjoyed!

And the way you adapted these two stories is INCREDIBLE.

You got that right. Not to mention this story would fit perfectly well in Season 4 and replace it with a mediocre episode like Special Attraction or maybe Rusty to the Rescue.

even though I knew, I KNEW when this was coming. This still comes as a total surprise, I love how you combined two stories that honestly work quite well with eachother. SevernValleyStudios has done it again with the amazing score. This has to be my personal favorite of yours so far and I can’t wait to see what else you have stored up your Station Masters Sleeve!
omg, this is SO WELL DONE, it is the best adaptation TVS-style I have ever seen, the shots, the framing, everything, if I saw this like 5 meters from me I would legit think it is a Model made episode and not a Trainz one, I cannot describe how happy I feel after seeing this, the fandom CAN be really amazing❤
This was glorious. Such a wonderful story and exquisitely filmed and produced. I was taken back to my childhood, watching Series 4 on video. It fitted in so well, I don't know how you do it. Well done mate! Always a pleasure to watch and admire your work :)

Okay first off, credit to Severn for incorporating Polynesian Parakeet into this episode's score. Fitting homage to 'O Donnell right there.
Second, this episode managed to combine TWO stories into one in a way I didn't think possible!
I Like the little character arc Jack Jones has over the course of this episode. I imagine after nearly suffocating to death in that box and having to be rushed to the hospital he finally realized he was long past his prime and decided to retire for good, taking in Cocky along the way.
I feel like out of all the fan content across the community, your videos are the ones that genuinely make me feel the most nostalgic; And I think that speaks volumes about you. I can't wait to see what else you have planned!

Thoroughly enjoyed this much like your other stories you've done so far for the channel. These truly feel like stories from the TV series that never made it to being shown, takes me back so many years to my childhood. In true story style "Keep up the Good Work" I can't wait to see what other stories are coming :)

Had to come back over a year later to say that I still love this story. Probably my favorite of your videos. You’re so good at capturing the feel of a certain season, and you’ve got a great voice for narration to boot. Can’t wait to see what’s next now that you’ve got your new PC!

Jack was definitely a creative character for this. Now from watching this is making me hungry for Jack in the Box.
How can you EAT a Jack in the Box?
The story is well written, and the Camera angles are exquisite. and the engines move at just the right speed when starting and stopping to look realistic. This is almost on the same level as most classic series episodes. 10/10.

What I especially found to be a treat was that inclusion of Polynesian Parakeet by Mike O'Donnell, a beautiful inclusion of his outside work!!

NOT ANOTHER rude Guard!! Reminds me of that one in "Boco Takes a Stand". And that parrot reminded me of that other story where that one parrot imitated the Guard's whistle. And I know which one that is.

Wow this story is so wholesome! It’s nice to see Jack and the parrot get a happy ending. I also love the visuals in this. Dare I say... the intro is better than the version in seasons 1-7?
Can I just say, damn what an opening never I have I ever scene such well made foliage around the wind mill absolutely spectacular. And the rest of the video as well. Absolutely clever how combined two annuals into one it’s stellar of a video. keep up the great work. this is quality at its finest.

I honestly wish we could have had more episodes with Oliver and duck on the little western. This is an excellent portrayal of the classic series during the early seasons I really appreciate the amount of the work you put into these pieces well done!

Excellent story this! Somehow I felt the box incident was loosely based on the one in Hitchcock's The Lady Vanishes film. Great use of it with the parrot if I may say so!

A nice combination of two annual stories here. One story I recognized as Oliver gets the Bird (I think), but the other one I don't know the title of. Still great job here.
Ah the other story is actually called Jack In The Box which was fairly similar to what you see here except Jack Jones is my own creation and the original story featured James

Another difference I noticed is that in the video, Oliver had a mail train, while in the annual story, he had a passenger train and was waiting to for Rex to drop off some passengers from the Arlesdale Railway.
The Parrot Copying The Conductors Whistle Is Cute
This was wonderful. Nice idea for this episode to come from two old episodes. I enjoyed the 'Jack-in-the'-box' joke at Knapford station 😀. I was a bit puzzled by the long caption during the end credits, with all the V's in. What was all that about? 😕
It's a reference to the film "V for Vendetta", I always like to end the credits of my videos with references to my favourite films
The narrator's right. That Guard SHOULD'VE retired LONG ago! How he still remained in service and was constantly rude like that is beyond me! I hate those types of people! He shouldn't EVER be that way!!! NO Guard should!!!!

That was absolutely spot on absolutely loved it and very much series 3 something britt Allcroft would have easily have adapted ! Plus I would very much like to adapt that story too if you don’t mind because I have all the characters in one big collection tomy Trackmaster plarail custom making you name it I’ve got it everything that goes with it!
Well it's technically not my story, it's a merging of two Christopher Awdry annual stories called "Jack In The Box" and "Oliver Gets The Bird", the only real original element I added to tie them together was "Jack Jones"

Possibly, if I can think of a good story then maybe, I dont enjoy the idea of doing something in the s6-7 style as I'm not that keen on it and that'd be the only time you'd find Emily
@@SudderyStationMaster I recommend you do a plot such as this. Oliver has to push Emily to the works over an incident. The rest is up to you. I believe that with your writing, you'd make it a splendid story.

Haha a nice idea, maybe one day 😄 my editing software has an option to add frame blending which basically smooths everything out creating a less sharp look which is nice in some shots but doesn't really work in others and I'm not sure why 😕
