I finished it yesterday...Well I made the mistake to not build it up first...then I had to join the war against Germany... Germany blitzkrieg'd the hell out of Europe and rushed through russia, which surrendered in 1942 and took British India 1 Year later....Japan conquered half of Russia and sat up their empire in the east. UK was overrun in 1943. Status at the end of 1943 Axis (active): Germany, Italy, Finland, Sweden, Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey Allies (active): France, USA and myself and the other brit puppets and colonies. I had only an army of 24 divisions and at the end a tier 8 general with 6 traits. First Job to do, was to kick out italy from africa....well beeing a puppet from another nation is a pain in the ass when you try to help them. At 1946 The axis controlled whole europe and asia. Africa and America were the last resorts from the allies. (Australia meanwhile got rekt by japan). I was fighting til 1946 in Turkey, trying to push the axis away....but....yeah with crap divisions I couldn't change til 1946 because of puppet/colony reasons, it was a hard fight. At the end I was sitting at the Suez Canal in 2 provinces with tier 10 forts...on the other side of the Suez...a Monster! 50 Div's mostly from germany...tanks, infantry and mechanized stuff. I attackt everytime Germany moved their troops away to gain some autonomy points. But in the End I was just holding out til I got the Chance to get free...which I was in 1949...So 3 Years just sitting at the suez and beg that they don't rush in from anywhere else. My Focus was set up for the whole time. I had some nice advantages through the environment and landscape at the Suez Canal... In the End, the Axis won. Japan invaded my backyard in the Red Sea. Germany came along with them and I had to get my troops away from the Suez...then they broke through and beat the shit outta me. But I got this achievement at least xD In the End I just watched Germany conquer Egypt and I closed the game with a sigh and a defeated "Heil then" xD Ah forgot something...Kuwait was nuked to dust from Germany at some time.

I mean tier 10 forts behind a river are a cruel thing plus a tier 8 general with full traits. But after all...you get nervous. then you look at the west coast of africa and see German and Italian Troops invading. Also...the US are a bit mean. I was still building up my defense and holding Germany back there. at my port in Alexandria was a huge stack of US troops just sitting there and do nothing. Since you don't actually have to do this by starting as the UK, there's an alternative (but very slow and boring) way to do this achievement. Do a world conquest as any faction, making sure to gain control over Egypt in any eventual peace conferences. Once there's nobody declaring war in the world anymore, you can simply use whichever nation you chose to release Egypt and take it from there with no risk of invasions or anything. Upside is that you don't have to worry about invasions, but downside is that your only means of increasing your autonomy is the continuous focus (since lend-leasing to overlord is only possible in wartime). Then you can just tab out and check in on it every now and then.

That achievement was easy after the Death or Dishonor patch. Just fortify El Alamain and wait for British troops to defeat the Italians. When the Axis is beaten you just have to get independent.
i got overrun by italy and germany, so i just freed palestine and sudan as free countries before freeing myself als egypt. this way those nations dont join the war and your only frontline is west + your port cities
There are a lot of HoI 4 multiplayer community groups in steam. (Zeus Community etc). Try browsing through the steam and community page youll find interesting stuff :)

Every single time Italy has the best game I have ever seen them do in Africa! I have done it 10 times and each time Italy some how conquered the whole of Africa! Time and time again. When I play a regular game I never see them do this well.

I had to try 3 times but I'm on the 3rd play threw and it's May 1945 an I have 656/1000 to becoming Dominion. I also started at 4 and now it's 630.
