I'm feeling the color story. I was in San Antonio a couple weeks ago and will be in Dallas this weekend. I have never wanted to own a white wardrobe until spending so much time in Texas!
Maybe it's the want to wear white is the subconscious effort of trying to not attract the anymore sun to after being in sun city LOL. I hope you get to swing by the Dallas fabric shops while your in town. They are definitely worth the trip!
@@ChyeallaMcBride Wherehouse Fabrics (that’s not a misspelling LOL) they have a $3 bin that’s hit or miss but a good treasure hunt. Most of the rest of their fabrics are about $6-$10 a yard - they have denim for $7 a yard. Petra’s - literally one door down - has some beautiful fabrics and really good priced silks.
The End of Fashion is one of my favorite fashion books EVER! I think Teri Agins was the first Black fashion journalist I ever read - her Saturday column in the WSJ was a must read for me - and I always joy her take on things. Can't wait to see the creamy printed denim skirt! AND today's look was hella cute!!! 🤎
Teri Agins is so fascinating to me. I am new to her work but WOW am I blown away by her ability to go into depth with things but still present them on such a digestible level. I wonder if I can find her former columns in the archives... I'm excited to share the finished makes with you all. I've just about worked my way through the entire stack!
My partner took me to a couple creative reuse stores in California for my birthday and I picked up some metallic leather scraps. I dont really know how t work with them yet but I'm excited to learn. And, at the second store i got some beautiful blue linen!
Oh, that sounds so exciting! I have a couple of thrifted leather scraps I'm still pondering over myself. The blue linen sounds like such a treat - there is really something magical about thrifting beautiful fabrics, like you just won the sewing lottery!
Love your sharing your thoughts on planning! I just purchased McCalls 3233, a vintage 1980s pattern. It's oversized sweatshirts and shorts or pants, all cozy looking. I actually love updating 1980s patterns with beautiful fabrics. And they are usually very inexpensive too
I just looked up M3233, it's such a good one. I also have quite the affinity for vintage 1980's patterns. Fashion is so cyclical that the idea of something being 'out of style' really just a matter of adding or eliminating a few details!
Love new content from you. I agree that most podcasts are annoying echo chambers. For organizing my sewing “journal” I use notion and I am some day going to have the courage to share my recording on TH-cam that I made for it.
Hey, Zelda! I love that you got the comments started for this video!! 💛😊 That stack of fabrics is really such a lovely little set of fabrics, I feel so happy when a plan comes together like that!
Thank you so much for that feedback! I've actually made it to the grading stages for my first pattern and to be honest - it's exciting and nerve wrecking at the same time, so I really do appreciate your comment 💛
Hey! I've had one inquiry on it that I've been unable to respond to (currently out of town) but if that falls through - I'll be sure to update you here in the comments 💛

The fabric is beautiful you are wearing? Where do you get a lot of your cottons?
Thanks so much! It was actually a thrifted fabric.
What is your PO Box information and pattern sizes for the big 5. I have a couple of 1900's early 2000's patterns that I think you would love.
That's so thoughtful! Can you msg me on insta or FB? I can share it with you via messages over there 💛
Hi. Suggestion: I think you should make patterns and sell them. Just a thought for the future. Thank you.
