Many thanks for making me aware of the late night edition. I take it that JATP is a love or not love album despite the stellar recording and techniques behind. In the past years, the market has been flooded with various reissues and this seems to continue. I finally decided for the forthcoming 4 x 45 rpm one step release by AudioNautes which already released the glorious Reel-to-Reel edition. Curious which version will come in as No. 2 after the R2R.
Hi Kenny, have a great week Zenon from Brasil
You too Zenon, I hope that you have a great week 😊
Thanks for a great review. I have most of this material on the 30th anniversary SACD release. However Frenesi seems to be missing from that one. So I may need to get these on vinyl, but again then I may almost never dust of my SACD player again, this is almost the only record I play there 🙂 Just wish these 2xHD's were a bit easier available here in Norway.
I appreciate your comments and thank you very much for watching my video from Norway ✌️
Nice review. I wasn't aware of this album. You are costing me money once again Kenny.
😊😁💰 🎶
Hi Kenny. Another great review vid. Wondering if you like swing music as well? I've been picking these 3 album sets from 1936 all the way into the 1940s call The Swing Era by Time Life. They are awesome recordings that include a hardcover book of the history and pictures of that era. Great stuff. Thanks.
I do like some although I do not have any Time Life issues.
I am getting into vinyl collecting and I’m going to be looking at records today to start out with
I hope that you enjoy the music and collecting 😊
I believe 2xHD is the name of the proprietary fusion system used to produce the high resolution remastering of selected recordings due to their quality and interpretation.
interesting review. I just checked but the only version I have is the ATR 03 Mastercut of Jazz at the pawnshop.
It's a great album to listen to 🎶
Wonderful, wonderful album. Though they really butchered the front cover with the cartoony text saying "Late Night: New Unreleased Tapes", they could've had a little sticker telling you that or made the sleeve color different. Anyhow, I might add this to my wishlist even if I close my eyes pulling it out of the shelf.
This is definitely a recording that all sound engineers should study, it’s amazing what they captured with a couple well placed Neumann mics in a club that apparently had good acoustics (although I don’t think I’m interested enough in the music to pay $90). Kenny, do you have any digital versions of the main Pawnshop album that you think are pretty good?
I only have one digital version of Jazz at The Pawnshop and it's by a company called FIM (First Impressions Music) although it's very good I do not have any other digital sources to compare it to.
Half of this album gives me the feeling of a black & white comedy film that I'm getting ready to watch. Some of the others make me feel like I'm sitting in a jazz cafe. Overall, I would rate it a 7.85 while the score would probably be higher with high definition sound.👍
Thank you very much for watching my video and your score....I hope that you enjoy the film 😊
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews I have a song recommendation if you're interested?
What does 2xHD stand for?
To be totally honest, I do not know. I went to their website to see if I could find the answer for you but I could not find any definitive. It may stand for two times the resolution or double DSD but I honestly do not know.
@@kennysaudiophilerecordreviews I thought they finally came out with a high definition record that they were talking about at one time.
Two records in HD
