When I think of Scottish rave, I think of Ultrasonic, I must be old !
Rip Mallorca lee a rave legend
Legend ❤
Type these in youtube search bar : "Earthquaker - Ayrshire, Scotland (13th June 1992) (Full Video)
"Holocaust Rave New Cummnock Official Full Video 92" oct 92"
"Galactica - Ripon 1992 '92 Video Footage from this 8000 capacity rave at Ripon" 8000 people!
"Galactic rave Glasgow 199 new years eve"
watch a few minutes and prepare to think "Man scotland smashed it with the rest of the world until the laws and world changed and freedom to dance became more and more of an effort than a statement and gradually just became a memory... Then your gonna think "what the hell is this i just watched?? -no offense but 2009?!? - Look at 1991 ye Dafty .. they bounced so hardcore they havent landed yet ! , all still in air theWeeeeeeeeeyyyyyyyyyyy " LOL
Ultrasonic was my first rave in Elgin, a club called Bishops 94/95 ❤ good times indeed
@@skaye3210 No way has he died. WTF.
What an amazing documentary, I was part of the 90's scene and miss every second of it.
I was Rez crew, the 2000s raves were fuck all to rez
40 Year old and I've got 2 raves booked this month :D
Rez?
For me, Scotland the Rave was things like Rezerection, Fubar, Nosebleed, Hanger 13, The Metro, Tom Wilson on Forth FM, Bouncy Techno, Dutch Gabba and Hardcore, Scott Brown, Marc Smith, Bass Generator & Sneaky Eye, Lenny Dee, Ruffneck, Human Resource,
QFX, QTEX, Bass X, Rythmic State, Ultrasonic, TTF, Clubscene, M8. Fuckin crazy times, I'd go back in a heartbeat! 😄
Not one mention of the Rez 🙄😂
What's that he typed before fubar ? 😅😅
Scottish rave sounds like funfair music to me

What a great Documentary. 1987 onward Raver for life here. I love how the Scottish Ravers grabbed the Rave baton and ran full pelt with it throughout the 1990's etc. The Happy Hardcore etc sound evolving, and people plugging into the power of pure Rave Scene Culture.

When I think of the Scottish scene I always think about happy hardcore.
Looking back... i feel so lucky to be part of this generation. Didn't seem like much at the time, but wow.... i was part of this 😎
SCOTT BROWN! woooo!
Now is the time 😂 track of my childhood
@@angrypandagames1792 after my first rave (ultrasonic vs public domain); straight to the record store. I need rave music! Uh, ok, here we go. Scott Brown, ravers choice. That should be pretty raveish. Got to see the man in the flesh a few years later at enchanted forest. He was a riot! He downed a bottle of Jack Daniels during his set and stopped what he was doing to sign autographs and do selfies with people. He was the first DJ I'd ever seen using cds instead of vinal. He was supposed to give an interview for the DVD but he was passed out!
Was gunna say..I'm not Scottish but Scott Brown is the first name I think of for sure!!!
The Scots were inspired by the Dutch hardcore sound, but then the Dutch got their happy hardcore sound from the Scots. 90's were the best.
Fukin love it what a time to be alive 🥰🥰
Love it❤❤❤
Excited to hear Scott Brown play again in Brisbane November 2024.
Just came across this. I’m from the north east rave scene but a lot of the Scotland stuff got played up here at the new monkey colosseum after dark etc. good show. RIP Mallorca Lee legend
North East too, Craigmile, Bishops, Fusion, Lovechild and plenty illegal raves but went down to Bally's and Rez too 👌🏻the best days!
QFX were big in Newcastle I believe ! The birthplace of The Rez!
"You can call me Big G"
Errr no son, I'll call you what I want and it isn't very complimentary.
The rave scene died in 94 after the criminal justice bill. Having lived through early 80's HipHop, through the house and Acid House era, and then through the real Rave era 89-93, I know.
After 93 it wasn't 'Rave' any more, it was a splintered selection of genres, each with their own massive ego "oh I don't listen tot hat Jungle shit I like HHC" etc.
Back in 1990 we all listened to everything, all in the same night, and often played by the same DJ.
So many hardcore djs were from Scotland with many decent tracks being produced in the 90s! Scott brown, casio brothers, technotrance, Gordon tennant just too name a few
TTF, Ultrasonic, Ultimate Buzz, Q-Tex, Rhythmic State missed out quite a few there mate. 👍
@@scotlandsbatman amen to that
@@scotlandsbatmanI come here for this comment
Don't forget Tom Wilson. Sadly not with us but what a legend he was in the scence back in the day.
@pjmlfc05 Yes also another great dj & producer 🫶🏻 R.I.P 😐
88 - 92 south england 🙂
Use were to young to be at Rezerection that's were it all started in Scotland Edinburgh great days & times
It's a shame they missed the decade before, as that was even more friendly. I turned 16 in 1990, so was lucky to be there from the start and my god what an experience. I met people from all over the UK and never ever felt unsafe at a Rave. Basically started with the Sweatbox, Fantasia, up to the Glens, then Royal Hotel in Forfar, Rezerection, Hangar 13, The Fubar, Nosebleed (Judgement Day), to sitting in a carpark with 100's of people in their Nova's, Feisties, XR3i's Renualt 5's and 205's. Every genre was played at these events until it started splitting apart in 96, so i'd say we appreciated all kinds of music, but my love was for Hardcore in all it's genres. Had the pleasure of seeing some of the best dj's and bands at the time and buzzing for weeks afterwards. Met some amazing people back then too, it was just a whole vibe and everyone and i mean everyone was on the same level, no bullshit, no arguing and not one bit of violence, even with people from rival towns. Sadly those times have gone and i don't think will ever return and now it is scary to see a lot of people from that time passing on too...........can't take away our memories of it though
To be fair the rezerection started in a club in Newcastle them moved to the Highland centre !! 😊😊
Aye but you didnae even mention Awesome 101- Transmute ect ect
And Technodrome- the first awe nighter in a field I was at- first couple ae rezes were pretty heavy dutch hardcore and trance til i think it was The Castle then we started tae bounce. Candy flips and you were sorted. Good acid good fast and a eccie and you were well sorted. Fuckin superb.
Big shout out tae the Scotland massive. Rave ti the grave. Og 91 rave on.

Got to agree with you. I know you’re only 18 once but the 90’s was best Fantazia was commercial.
Spot on my bro. The only part that has anything special about the real scene was Ricky from Streetrave.

@@raspberrynipple9342I worked with the Rythmic State throughout the Rezerection days & with ultrasonic QTex etc. great days. 🙌🕊️🙌

Original plant attributes of drugs is really important to research, EVERY DRUG, and who provides it, in either legal or illegal sources. Human nature IS nature, there are no NATURAL substance NOT for human consumption. As all 'drugs' its about finding your personal balance xxx

Would have been entertaining if u could understand a fkn word this guy said..holy shit!!
I don't mean to be rude but it's very hard to understand people with thick Scottish accents, need subtitles please.
How sad I can understand all accents as a scot
Try harder
I'm American and didn't have much issues at all.
Very rude
Try being an Ulsterman in the English Army for 24 years 🙈😂
How can u be a child raver of the nineties if ur first party was in 2007?
