I've always had a soft spot for Astrid after she capped nearly all of her stats in my first Path of Radiance playthrough, so this was very satisfying to watch.

Astrid's early onset dementia has it's cons: forgetting how terrible Makalov is, forgetting she can do better, forgetting she was a good unit...
Yet it does have it's assets: forgetting she's now a bad unit, forgetting to leave enemies for Bexp, forgetting Green Units can't be good...
and of course... forgetting how to show mercy!!!

@@ZastralordI remember in my first playthrough of RD, I had a Ranulf with 40 speed and adept, so he would just annihilate anybody when transformed, it was amazing.
One thing i found really insane is that, transfer bonuses really make some characters THAT much better, Astrid goes from this super shit unit to atleast somewhat workable, Illyana goes from this super mediocre mage to a good unit with bonuses
Yeah they can really break some units, Jill especially gets even crazier when she has some.
Though honestly, aside from strength and maybe HP I don't think they made that much of a difference for Astrid

Admittedly, she isn't really as good in RD as she is in PoR (even if you can do crazy stuff with her, plus she can become pretty good, then again most units in RD can, not even counting transfers) she can be a lot of fun to use. Especially when she gets her Tier 3 promotion to use lances. :)
Yeah, her start in RD isn't as good as in PoR but I think she has a comparatively high pay-off compared to other units who struggle more with their speed caps.
Getting lances or especially the Double Bow on her always feels awesome^^.
@@Zastralord makes me wanna try do an Astrid MVP run at some point. My more previous RD playthrough I did try use her which was pretty fun, but it did end up being a run where Soren was mvp lol, (I did also give the Double Bow to Shinon).
@@lilgabbo2587 Keeping track of the MVP is hard when there's so many units and your armies shift around.
Shinon is always fun to use too.
@@Zastralord yeah that's true. Especially given how limited the Crimean Knights availability is. Its usually about feeding as much as you can in them maps they are available in. Plus the extra feedings you can give them in the tower if you choose to take them.
One day I gotta make a run using Meg, Fiona and Astrid (possibly the 3 worst units of the game) and make a run with all the low-tier units of the game.
Don’t forget Lyre in the Greil Mercs, she might be the worse character to use. With how great she is, you might wonder if she’s actually part of the Dawn Brigade!
