the sad part is that this game was leagues better than tekken 3 and came almost a year before it and had so many innovations like sidestepping fabric movement effects ect and still never took off in the west, it really is a tragic tale really
@@leonleon3267 well sega was behind on sony's takeover in the gaming industry. if I was in charge I would push for the saturn port with ram cart that would make the game arcade accurate.

But that meant that it was expensive to install in arcades. Tekken was on System 12 and it was pretty inexpensive. I’m sure in Japan it took off because of so many Sega arcades

It is interesting to hear some of the songs didn't sound as they do now, heck, Shun-di's theme was on the slower funkier side, and Sarah's theme didn't yet have all of its additional parts, and I don't even know where to start with Pai's theme. But it's really cool nonetheless to see how things have changed.
Very cool find, looks like the beta used the VF2 announcer, Lion's stage is different, Sarah's stage is different, Kage's stage uses Lau's final theme, Lau's stage uses Taka's alt theme, the cave stage uses Shun's final theme, Lion has an unused throw, Kage has a completely different, entirely unused voice, Wolf and Pai both have 1 unused voice effect and Akira and Lau use their VF2 voice, with 1 unused voice effect respectively.
Makes you wonder if the cave stage was originally going to be Shun's stage, if that was the case it would've been the only Shun themed stage that wasn't fought over a body of water.
