    Sir i have a question about the gross bearing force , i dont see how it gave you 286.19 when i replace "d" by his value , it gave me a bigger number so what are the values of d in this equation

    there are two height in isolated fooing ...one is base and another trapezoidal so how can we find that tota depth.

    Good day sir. I guess you must have heard of STAADS RCDC. I tried using it but I discovered the steel requirement is on the high side. What's your take on this software?

      Olawale Akinola, The thing which you encountered (that is uneconomical design results) is the reason why software based design is not preferred. If we use etabs also for design, the result we like that of what you got in staad.
      Myself and all other designers, I know of recommend, only to use softwares for Analysis purpose. And then to use manual calculations (with the help of Excel Sheets) for the Design.

    Sir, the way which you showed in vedio, to know the maximum footing reaction for each of the footing for different load cases, is quite handy for small buildings.
    For a large multistorey building, there would be large number of floorings. Should our approach be same as shown in vedio? Coz it will lot of time in excel filtering out max reaction for each of the footing for large number of footings in a multistorey building.
    Is there any other quicker way to do it sir?

    Why at 10:08 you have taken shear strength of concrete as 0.36 from is code. But at 11:58 you have taken shear strength of concrete as 0.25fck ?

      As its isolated footing we r designing, and footing depth and size r less, we can assume it be a hinged support, so moments won't be transferred to footing.

      Design using etabs, the design becomes very uneconomical( that is etabs gives very large sections and reinforcements which is not required actually) . As designer we need to design a economical section.

      We are not using safe software. And hence can't prepare its tutorial. In future we wil see if its possible.

    Why don't you go for struds software...You get all these in a single click!!!!

      Struds is not used widely. Whereas etabs and staad is widely used. And hence there is more confidence in the results we obtain from etabs and staad compared to other softwares, as these 2 are widely used and also by all major design firms.

    And sir in the Excel sheet from where did you got the value of moment as 26 point something KN-M?
    Is it from same excel sheet sir, design reactions? But in that vacues of MX, MY and Mz are in negative.?
    Kindly help me in this.

      There is no MX MY MX For footing? From where did u get it. Design of footing is only based upon the reaction coming on the footing.

      If u talking abt the 26. Something. It is calculated for finding out the steel required. The calculation of which is explained, which has been shown in the pdf file explaining the design of footing.
