    Let’s see which of these tips I can use in my next piece - I’m a slow learner, lol, but seeing how you added the final texture strokes feels like a revelation.

    Hi I just wanted to say I'm so glad I found you! I just started digital painting from only traditional painting a couple months ago and it's been really aggravating.
    I didn't like the brushes that come with procreate because there's not enough variety and they're too "computery" lol. Yours are very realistic AND don't just look real, they act like real brushes too! That's so important.
    And the best part is you actually explain how to use them!
    It's so strange to me that the other people that make brushes don't actually teach you how to use them.
    That's so much more helpful and thank you for doing that.
    I went back and bought your Pastels set which I love🩷, and I'll be coming back for the Graphite set, the Sketchbook and papers bundle, and the Crosshatching set 😃.
    I was wondering if you'll be coming out with one for charcoal and one for acrylics too?
    If not, maybe you could consider those for the future?
    Anyway, I'm subscribed and following. Thank you so much for what you do.

      Hello, Faye 9! Wow, thank you so much for your kind comment, I really appreciate it. It makes me so happy to know that you’re enjoying my brushes and my tutorials ❤️ I agree that every brush creator should dedicate some time regularly to teach their customers how to use their brushes! Only the creator can show you how to take full advantage of their brushes, as they know them better than anyone else.
      I’ll add your suggestions to my list of possible brush sets in the future 😊 Thank you so much!

      Hi, I love your video and will most likely get your brushes to follow along, but what makes it so much more difficult is not knowing what layers you’re using - which layer you’re on, what the mode of that layer is (I’m guessing it’s probably Normal most of the time, but I could be wrong?) etc. That makes it very difficult to follow along :(

    I'm going to be trying my hand at this tutorial. I fear that results may vary! 😂
    I appreciate that you have limited yourself to a few brushes - it shows that you don't need all the brushes you can get to achieve the results you want. I often fall into the trap of thinking that if I only had more brushes I'd be able to get my work to look like I imagine.
    This will be a great exercise for me (and many other beginners I'm sure). Keep up the good work!

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you so much! Limiting the amount of brushes you use in one piece is a great way to slowly familiarize yourself with a brush set. I tend to use a few specific brushes from one set for a while, and from time to time I explore working with a few other brushes from the same set. This is also a great way to get out of your comfort zone and discover new workflows that work well for you, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a beginner or a pro artist 😊

      @@IttaiManero Do you colour pick from the reference photo (and adjust them to suit the work) or use your judgement with regards to colours?
      And I'm looking forward to getting to know the brushes at a more relaxed place.

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ArchArad I never color pick from the reference. The only way to actually learn how to choose the right colors is to develop your observation skills (looking at the reference and trying to replicate the colors you see), which is something you can’t do by color picking 😊

    I don’t know why drawing app creators thinks every brush should be pressure sensitive. I did painting and oils for 10 years never had to do any pressure. Zero pressure. Other than that. What a great work thanks for sharing !

    • @jak3est

      Because it cuts time instead of changing the opacity to replicate thinning you just adjust pressure work flow thing i think. It is weird to get used to tho makes everything draw like a marker or watercolor

    Hi Ittai, I love your work and I have your brush set. It is wonderful. I noticed that you did not use the two layers (Canvas Board Texture and the Oil texture) on top of the painting layer. It really helps to see you use your brushes as I am new to painting in the Oil painting style. Can you explain? Thank you.

    • @IttaiManero
      @IttaiManero  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Janine, thanks for the kind words! Yes, I can explain. Since this one was a beginner tutorial I just wanted to keep things simpler, and in the same way I limited the exercise to 6 brushes, I also limited the textures used to just one, the oil color base. Feel free to add those two other textures as I explain in the more advanced included PDF tutorial.

When I’m painting I usually prefer to have the reference on a separate screen so that it doesn’t take out part of my working space. The problem with ProCreate is that painting like this is nothing like painting with oil. The experience is completely different.

    • @IttaiManero

      I get that nothing can fully replicate the traditional oil painting experience. However, I’ve worked hard on these Procreate brushes and tools to get as close as possible, and the positive feedback I’ve received tells me that many artists are enjoying them. My aim is to offer a nice option for those who prefer to work digitally. I’m genuinely proud of what my brushes can achieve.
