Dog giving birth to two puppies - Dachshund edition.

My miniature Dachshund gave birth to her first litter at the age of 3. She had two beautiful healthy baby girls: one black and tan, and the other red dapple. Mum and puppies are doing great and are all just so adorable.
The birth starts at 2:37 minutes.

Beautiful mama!! Yes you should definitely take her collar and flea collar off until the babies are bigger so they don’t get a paw or leg stuck in them on accident otherwise what beautiful babies!

All you people complaining cause the lady is helping my goodness its a blessing she with her dog giving birth. Its best because sometimes you have to help to get them breathing. I think its wonderful!!!!

She was not helping. Dogs do need a person observing during birthing. but not touching them or the puppies if everything is going well.

Oh goodness why does the woman keep touching and stroking? Leave mumma alone and let her do what nature intends. You don’t have to interfere so much. Also would have been nice to remove mum’s collars.

Agree, dogs do not need people touching them during birthing puppies. Collars are not good for Dachshunds; get a harness for when she is outside on a leash.

Leave the dog alone,she can manage quite adequately on her own. Stop interfering……….a natural birth is best.
