    Most informative and explanatory tutorial on the adjusting of Wrangler headlights. Thank you so very much for putting this out there!
    I just installed an LED package on mine and I had wondered how I was going to adjust them. Happy wheeling!!

      @@journey2jeepin yeah with my aftermarket Grill I may have to pull the pup tabs out from behind the grill since there's no room to put a T-15 on the side.
      And by the way that T-15 screw... is that the only one there is for adjustments?
      I was thinking that one went side to side only?

      Just the one screw, once mounted the headlights are always straight if the bracket hasn’t been altered but everything from lifting the jeep, bigger tires, etc will all change the height it lights up so those would be good examples of times you would need to realign them up or down so you don’t blind everyone or end up lighting the sky and not the road :)

      @@JeepingAdventuressame with my jeep. Cant fit a T15 behind and my lights are insanely blinding people. Already was flicked off and high beamed by oncoming traffic with my stock headlights, didnt even bother turning on my new LED ones until i lowered them! Lol

    I like this technique. On another video I saw a technique where you aimed your headlights so the top of the beam was 3’ high at a distance of 25’ regardless of the height of your headlights. I did this with my JL (2” lift on 35” tires; my headlights are physically 42” off the ground) and the light from my headlights didn’t project nearly as far down the road. In comparison, the light from my car’s headlights travels much further down the road. That got me thinking that the proper height your headlights should shine at 25’ depends a lot on the height of the vehicle. To better understand this lets look at two extremes. Suppose I have a Jeep with a 12” lift and 42” tires. My headlights are going to be almost 5’ off the ground and in order to hit the target beam height of 3’ I’m going to have to have my lights adjusted sharply downward, resulting in the light extending a relatively short distance in front of the vehicle. Now let’s assume I have a stock Jeep with the headlights physically sitting a little over 3’ high. To hit the 3’ target the headlights only need to be adjusted downward a small amount resulting in the light projecting much further down the road. The technique presented here makes a lot more sense. I’ll give it a try tonight. Thanks for the video!

    My adjustment screws were all rusted and stripped the heads. Plastic was too brittle to replace just the screw. So I had to order new buckets. The screws that hold the rings were rusted, and they appear to be a smaller size. They wanted $3 EACH at the hardware store. Overall, adjusting my headlights has been a really annoying project.

      Hey Rich Parker,
      That does sound like an annoying project!
      If it helps, what I always do when I remove a screw/bolt is hit it with a dap of anti seize to avoid that exact situation. One jar goes a long way and you will thank yourself later :)

    Clockwise to raise or lower the lights? You never mentioned that.

    • @journey2jeepin

      Clockwise will raise the lights, counter clockwise will lower them.
      Thanks for pointing that out :)

      It’s common sense mate. Backing out a screw or bolt will make it taller. Driving one in will shorten it.

    When you made the adjustments, were you on the high beam or low? thanks

    • @journey2jeepin
      @journey2jeepin  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Victor,
      I was using my low beam. I did this because I want to adjust the height I will be driving with the majority of the time. This helps me control whether or not I am blinding on coming traffic along with making sure I am still getting the best lighting possible for myself as the driver.
      Hope that helps :)

      Hey, do you mean when you place your lights on “Auto” that it selects your low beams all the time ?

    What about side to side?

    • @journey2jeepin
      @journey2jeepin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you mount the headlights to the Jeep the mounting holes are already straight so the only real adjustment you should need is up and down. If they aren’t mounting straight check for debris between the headlight bracket and the frame on the Jeep and ensure it is fastened all the way :)
