😂😂😂*NO WAY!* 08/12/24 Spurs 2-3 Chelsea 10 minutes left of the game & I'm here, They were 2-0 up, Cucrella slipped twice! This amazing, because I watched this video hours before kick off too!! 😂 What are the chances of that!
The refereeing in that Arsenal 4-4 game was absolutely atrocious.. but in hindsight it can be forgiven just because it gave Cheick Tiote that unforgettable goal.
Out of curiosity- for your Bottle Job Index, would be great to adjust for relative position in the table for the lead bottled. Meaning, if 10th place Tottenham bottled against 4th place Chelsea, then fewer points awarded while if vice-versa, it would be a bigger bottle.
Drawing/losing games from winning positions is not the only thing that makes Spurs, spursy. Things like, winning against 115FC twice this season, then losing to Bournemouth, also makes them spursy. Overpaying for over-hyped or injury prone players also makes them spursy. Sacking their manager BEFORE A CUP FINAL, makes them spursy. Being roasted by their own manager(s) for their lack of winning mentality, makes them spursy. Being okay with sacrificing their own Champions League spot (just so Arsenal have no shot of winning anything) and then celebrating their loss like they won a title, also makes them spursy. It's not just one thing that makes Spurs, spursy. It's the entire package.
Coming back from 3-0 down at Anfield with an equaliser deep into injury time, _and still losing the match_ (in April 2023) *now that's what I call Spursy* !
You see Spurs normally in a 3 way you have a 33 and a third % chance of winning. But man utd know they can't beat me so I actually have a 66 and 2 thirds chance of winning. The numbers don't lie and they spell disaster for you at sacrifice spurs
Good video but it doesn't take into consideration bottling league positions, such as when Leicester won the league, or losing in finals, like the Champions League final. It also doesn't take into consideration losing to teams you expect to beat and winning against a good side. Spurs are basically what Southgate England or Man United is now, more or less. Southgate has Spurs DNA
Your videos are tip tip top quality - been here since day 1 and every single video is incredible. Unreal - well done - hope this channel gets the recognition it deserves - keep at it!
Not only is the actual presentation and analysis great, but I really appreciate this guys sarcasm and sense of humour. Also yes, funny how spurs bottled another one earlier today
An interesting idea for a video would be the Kingslayers and Kingmakers of the Prem , basicly which teams from the bottom 10 have taken more points from the top 3-5 and which teams of the bottom 10 have given the most towards the top 3-5 , what this metric would show is actually which bottom placed treams are actually inconsistent because if they can and have beaten top tier opposition then a larger majority of their loses come from teams from whome they are much closer in theory with
Well, that was brilliant! Love your style and presentation, oh, and that Tottenham are now officially not the most Spursy team out there.... Mid table respectability!
You should add 1 point if bottle was against top 5 team, 2 points against mid table and 4 points against bottom 5. Seeing as fluking your way to a two goal lead against a title contender and drawing or losing is less worse than doing it against someone in the relegation zone. Also add 6 points if the bottlers are top 5, 3 points if bottlers are mid-table and 0 points if bottlers are bottom 5. Then the bottle job index also adjusts for the degree of bottling by each team.
You could correct for skill but this would be a bad way to do it. This method is very arbitrary in separating into groups and how much points are added. It would be better to get a sort of variable that uses the point total of the teams. However it would involve quite a bit of math to make sure this is a fair number. S
Mate your methodology is probably more rigurous than a lot of scientific studies. If you could post this as a follow up, I would be very interested to know the Spursy index for bottle-jobs/EPL-games-played instead of the 2 goal lead estimate. Bc imo there is a case to say that you are a more Spursy team if you get into a 2 goal lead more often... It's part of being Spursy!
Nerdy disagreement on a otherwise great video but I disagree with the methodology of controlling for the amount of times a team has held a two goal lead. The teams that are more likely to hold a two goal lead ie the Arsenals and Chelseas etc are also the teams where it would constitute a bigger bottling than the teams less likely to hold a lead in the first place. For example Man city may be twice as likely to hold a two goal lead against Ipswich but Ipswich squandering a two goal lead against Man city is half as much of a bottling than the other way round. Thoughts? Also the burning smell in your car is probably the clutch going
I think that's a more than fair comment; I reckon if there was some kind of team seeding implemented to take into account the above, that would be an improvement on the metric ... having said that my brain is fried from this video as it is, maybe I'll have a lie down and think about doing a v2 in the future. Hopefully you enjoyed otherwise!
Yeah I agree with this. I wonder how it looks if the bottling is compared with the number of played games. Worse teams are less likely to get a lead and more likely to loose that lead. So now it is more a metric of overall skill instead of bottling.
Man, a smile starts creeping on my face when I get a notification from your channel. Metaphorically speaking Route None becomes Route One 🎉😂 With this video you are fighting justice just before Tottenham face Chelsea on Sunday . Nothing spursy expected then

Cheers! Burnley have held approximately 57 2-goal leads in the Premier League, drawing 5 and losing 1, giving them a BJI of 0.23. Which puts them in a sandwich between Sheffield Utd and Leicester
