In an older Flash game called "ASCIIvania" that I mentioned in another comment, the developer didn't even deal with it, both letters J and Z are in a single room, labelled "USELESS AND ABANDONED THINGS" :P The letter Q is the final letter that you obtain, to complete the game.
@@geapswords are made of letters, and words are what is being translated, so the letters must be entirely different, and, thus, the entire game. One version for one language. Yeah, that's a nightmare
@@hisupwassup But aside from the single room that teaches the star mechanic, the text boxes simply serve as ammo sources, and don't really need to be read. And the "Star and T" clue can easily be refined to "* and T" or "* + T" to remove all ambiguity in other languages. So probably not as big of an issue as we might imagine.
@@firekirby123 well we have the word "art", and "eat" and not many languages have three letter words for art and eat that both end with a t and have an a in them
as someone who did a 50 second speedrun of the game, it felt weird watching someone new to the game. the star t thing took me literal days to get because someone had to tell me. also oyu can use the star mechanic to completley skip the last 3rd of the version i speedran
@@Nikola_MI haven't finished the video so I can't tell if you're making a joke about Icely not taking any Ls or he literally is missing an L by the end of the game
This reminds me of another game by the name of asciivania. It's quite similar in which you have to collect letters to progress. oh and great video btw👍
BRO i found this game from a game jam i was in and have played it multiple times over the past month, i cant beleiive it got onto a large channel like this
When i played this the game didnt end when i shot at the demon dude i could go left letting me go to a water area but i couldnt get much more past that
This makes me think I could make a game cheaper by making the character unable to read. Skyrim but the signs are all identicle, books have nonsense text and subtitles are only for decription, not dialogue.
late comment but unfortunately I feel like I remember too much of that game (I am in the credits for testing NSS part 2)! but yeah the tricks in that game were super special and super unforgettable unfortunately lmao. The only thing I could do blind is the very last part of NSS part 2. I *do* happen to have recordings of my old old old NSS footage but I think the commentary there is not very good
The game doesnt do anything important with the letter, all A-Z can be changed by any arbitrary kanji and itll be the same. Why is this video so highly watched?
challenge: replay this game, but your commentary can only consist of letters you have unlocked
Icely at the start of the game: aaaaaaaa. aaaaeeee æ eeeee aaa.

LMAO that would be hilarious if the full game comes out with that
I'd have to start my commentary with subtitles or hand gestures or something
Icely hand reveal for the bit
YES. YES. YES.
Finding rare letters such as J, Q, V, X, and Z is gonna be interesting when the full release is out

Localisation for this game must be a nightmare
Alternatively, this game could be a good educational aide for people who wish to learn English
would it? cause it's, as far as we know, only about letters, and it's not even shows how to pronounce them, so...

I like these gameboy style puzzle games, this one is pretty cute, i might give it a try myself! ^^
I don't think this is Gameboy styled - it looks more Commodore 64, ZX Spectrum, or maybe early DOS?
ikr these games are so adorable
"Hopefully there isn't an inventory system."
So you didn't pay any attention to your letter counts... Okay...
I assumed he meant a max amount if letters you can carry. But idk, I don't read minds (though I wish I did sometimes!)
Yoooo they made me into a video game protag
Hi Jimi
So cool to see a friend’s game get known :)
After you collect the letter it looks like those OwO texts

This game updated right now. Added a new section and "Halloween" mode.
I love how he missed a letter.
It's the I, you can see it at 4:40.

Me too, Jimi.
Jimi is not read. How do you write without reading?
This is like a game that you would see on a NES.
I feel like there was a flash game that I played a while ago that did something similar, don't remember what it was called though

What a fascinating gane 😊

Hold shift and press 8 and t at the same time.

Interesting game. Not that it was hard to find through google, but Is the game supposed to be linked in the description?
Looks fun!
In the last room, after you collected the letters, the textbox looks like it says "no H, world will fill in on H day" Some kind of a cryptic hint?
