Well built heavy duty machine. Much better than toro and exmark. Scag has the best mowers.
My uncle has a 1989 SCAG SW36" belt drive walk behind, still running, still mowing lawns, the old Kohler Command 14HP engine just keeps on going. I brought it over to my place, put new belts, blades, a couple of idler pulleys, a couple of tires, oil change, spark plug, and air filter, then went out and cut a 3 acre field with it the next day...I was surprised how well it tackled the 3 foot tall weeds and grass. My uncle used to have a 3 acre property that was nothing but a hillside from the side and back of the house, lawn tractors didn't hold up well, and got tired of replacing them year after year, he finally bought the SCAG a couple years later, and well, its still going. Its old, its heavy, and it did 27 years of running up and down that hill on their old property plus it had a lot of blackberry vines that it had to tackle as well. If I were to mow lawns for a living I'd definitely get a SCAG. They are very simple to work on too, which after doing the much needed maintenance on my uncle's I quickly realized they were built with service/repairs in mind unlike many other mowers.

This mower is one step below the fw15 ferris and three steps above the toro turfmaster pos.
Would love to see it on a little bigger yard and really see the stripes, looks like it does really good and does what you expect from a scag product.

I just purchase this mower. i am having a hard time turning the mower. Yes, i have the caster wheels. I am just noticing how you turn it. I may need to try it that way

@@kaleip I be honest, if you have a good size yard, front and back YES. If you have a small yard front and back. I would say no, get the scag 21" for the small yards

It think the older versions have the bigger gas tank. It’s either the older ones or the brand new. I do know ONE ☝🏽 of them comes standard with a bigger tank! I THINK it’s the Brand Brand New Ones! But it may be the older ones. Sorry I know that doesn’t help much. But it does, cause I know ONE of them DOES come with a bigger gas tank! So it’s definitely worth checkin’ into!
How difficult was it to put back into pickup bed? I'm only 18 and have enough issues with a Ferris 48 going up hills, don't need my truck getting messed up or myself.
Not to bad, just gotta get the wheels turning first and it’ll go up pretty easy, make sure to strap you ramps down though, you don’t want them to slide out from under the mower
How deep of grass will this cut? I live in central Texas and my yard has super thick St. Augustine grass. Trying to see if those little rear wheels will get the job done.
Yes it will handle it with ease, very powerful mower! I often run it at half power, make sure to subscribe I’ll be posting a video soon on it handling thick grass! 👍

It’s fairly heavy when pulling it but you get use to it
I like the setup you have without using a trailer. I cant tell from the video how your weedeater and edger holders are installed on your truck. can you give me some info? I really dont want to have to deal with getting a trailer

The engine revs like that before you engage the blades?
Yeah it’s not that bad in person, it gets louder when the blades are engaged

I need to find some durable, yet comfortable grass cutting shoes......any suggestions?
I like to go to boot barn or anywhere that sells boots and get a pair on clearance, I prefer no laces so the grass doesn’t get on my socks lol
Best boots I've purchased so far are the Stihl low cut work boots and reasonably priced.

Si estas pensando comprar esta maquina, no gastes tu dinero salieron muy DEFECTUOSAS del CLUTCH soy dueña de una de ellas y en menos de un año son 2 veces que se funde el CLUTCH y el lugar donde la compre esta lleno de estas maquinas descompuestas, SCAG es buena marca la mayoría de mis máquinas son de esta marca pero en esta maquina es una decepción total.

I own this mower and it is an overpriced piece of junk. Constantly breaking belts. Bogs down on tall grass. The side chute plate constantly comes off because the clasp is so fragile that holds it on.
I agree with you John, not super impressed myself. Bogs down, the bag is a pain to get back on and grass is always blowing out of the top between the bag.
