This video should have well over 1 million views, but sadly a majority of consumers on TH-cam don't plan to start their own channel, they just want to consume content. Regardless, keep it up! I make Forex, law of attraction, and short story videos and always focused on quality of content but I noticed my retention is pretty low despite amazing information so there are quite a few things I see I need to change. Especially with multiple camera angles and more variety of pictures rather than me having long periods of just speaking. Thanks for this.

It really paid if to watch way too many MrBeast Interviews :D You could make the whole guide at the end as a PDF freebie and connect it with subscribing to your newsletter if you still have one. There were some moments where the sound effects were not perfectly matching, but sound editing is to complex that I would not focus on improving that. Wow. Of the hundreds and hundreds of videos I've already seen on doing TH-cam, this is by far _the_ most important one. Yeah, I've worked a lot on shooting better footage, on getting my editing to the next level, on making catchier titles and thumbnails, but this is the first video that _really_ challenged me to rethink my workflow and consider another approach. I make rollerblading videos and my approach has always been: shoot some fun skating, show my new skating gear or new tricks, and make a nice video of all the clips I've shot. And in a way, that _does_ work. But you've shown me a way to plan out things a bit more and then apply a structure that works to my edits. So thanks a lot for your great insights!

Stumbled across this video yet found it fascinating. I can’t really relate to it in my niche as it’s watchmaking and 1 hour format with a male audience 40-60 years old. I have learnt a few things that may help (if I remember ) and could definitely see you knew your subject and worked hard to produce this. I found some of the constant captions distracting but maybe that’s because I’m middle aged. Thank you.

If using one camera, during editing of yourself talking... During editing, flip the video. Make it black and white or change the colour abit, then zoom it in. It will look like a diff camera angle for 5 seconds. Great video Very well done here

Stumbled across this video yet found it fascinating. I can’t really relate to it in my niche as it’s watchmaking and 1 hour format with a male audience 40-60 years old.
I have learnt a few things that may help (if I remember ) and could definitely see you knew your subject and worked hard to produce this.
I found some of the constant captions distracting but maybe that’s because I’m middle aged.

What a fantastic video April. I just found you. Appreciate the tips. It was laser focused and packed with top notch info. Excellent pacing on this video and it certainly kept me engaged till the end! I find it hard to do these types of videos related to "tutorials" such as drawing. I have a channel called "Driven to Draw" and I struggle with creating something interesting enough to retain the audience. Any tips for channels that provide drawing and digital painting tips? I am thinking it also depends on the core audience?

You've pointed out another way to increase retention. Create a video that is essentially a list, like this one. I created my own outline of your points while watching and if I wanted to complete my list I had to keep watching. Well played.

During editing, flip the video.
