Ingredients:
250g paneer (cubed)
1 cup thick yogurt
2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
1 tablespoon red chili powder
1 tablespoon turmeric powder
1 tablespoon cumin powder
1 tablespoon garam masala
1 tablespoon coriander powder
1 tablespoon chaat masala
Salt to taste
2 tablespoons mustard oil (or any cooking oil)
Juice of 1 lemon
Freshly chopped coriander leaves (for garnish)
Sliced onions and lemon wedges (for serving)
Marination Process:
In a bowl, combine the yogurt, ginger-garlic paste, red chili powder, turmeric powder, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, chaat masala, and salt. Mix well to create a smooth marinade.
Add the mustard oil and lemon juice to the marinade, giving it a good mix.
Gently fold in the paneer cubes, ensuring each piece is coated with the marinade.
Cover the bowl with cling wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, allowing the paneer to soak in all those wonderful flavors.
Cooking Method:
Preheat your tandoor or oven to 200°C (392°F).
If you're using skewers, thread the marinated paneer cubes onto them. If not, you can place the paneer directly on a greased baking tray.
Place the paneer in the tandoor or oven and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, or until it's beautifully charred and cooked through. You might want to turn the skewers or flip the paneer halfway through for even cooking.
Once done, remove the paneer from the tandoor/oven and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
