Happy New Year Kate and yes watching this was very helpful I won't be dipping my finger's into the powder again because when I did that they ended up so bulky lol...atm I only have 3 dip powder's one is dark purple with glitter and the other is gold with glitter...the 3rd is very fine navy blue with a chameleon shift (Melbourne Storm colour's my RL team)...I think I'm going to check Amazon out I definitely need a clear and a few other colour's would be nice...thankyou for sharing xo 💜💅💜

You can not use clear dip over glitters and shimmers using gel liquids. It becomes cloudy and kills the glitter. You can do a second layer of gel top coat instead, buffing after the first layer, or use a thin layer of builder gel to encapsulate instead.

Would you be willing to make/try a video with doing a French manicure set with gel liquids and give your thoughts on the process? I’ve searched TH-cam for videos but haven’t had the best of luck finding any. I love doing my nails, especially the famous French manicure but I guess I’m not brave enough to try it yet until I get opinions on if the process was easy or even worth it.

The one question I can't seem to answer/find with this method.. because I AM interested. Is what's the strength like with this? I'm too scared to try it because my natural nails are so long 😅 I know dip is acrylic and resin so ofc that's strong. Gel is more flexible so combined with acrylic is it as strong? Stronger? Weaker?

the gel method is definitely weaker than when using dip liquids. however, to combat this, you could apply a few more layers, or use a stronger gel product like a rubber base or builder gel! it is still very durable, just not as durable as resin.

what about the huge distance between your cuticle and the color layer? These nails look like they are a month old

hi! yes, these nails were slightly grown out before redoing them.

I thought you couldn't clear encapsulate with clear due to it showing grainy? Per Marla?

hi! you can use a very finely milled clear powder and avoid the graininess. it really depends on the consistency of the powder that you use.
