    The macro to emtpy bags (use with care) :
    /run PickupContainerItem(4,12) DeleteCursorItem()
    /run PickupContainerItem(4,13) DeleteCursorItem()
    /run PickupContainerItem(4,14) DeleteCursorItem()
    /run PickupContainerItem(4,15) DeleteCursorItem()
    /run PickupContainerItem(4,16) DeleteCursorItem()
    Bonus : If you want to use an addon, Necrosis addon can be used to automaticly delete the extra soul shards.
    Talent build suggestions:
    lvl 40 : tbc.wowhead.com/talent-calc/w...
    This is the talent I like to use, I leave Nightfall out even though it is a great talent in general, but while grinding shadowbolts are not mana efficient.
    lvl 50 : tbc.wowhead.com/talent-calc/w...
    Here you can change few talents if you have good gear and spell power, like moving talents to Empowered Corruption. I did get Nightfall here, as I do not have much Spell damage, but play in PVP server.
    From that point onwards, it is all up to you, the benefits are minimal for farming. Demonology provides a tiny bit more efficiency with better Warlock Armors and better resilience due to more Health. Destro provides better dps, but at cost of efficiency, so it may be better for group play.

    Found out even much better macro for shard management which I thought didnt work at retail :
    /cast Drain Soul(Rank 1)
    /run local a=GetBagName(4); if a=="Core Felcloth Bag" or a=="Felcloth Bag" or a=="Soul Pouch" or a=="Box of Souls" or a=="Small Soul Pouch" then PickupContainerItem(4,GetContainerNumSlots(4)) DeleteCursorItem() else end
    This macro will check your soulbag and delete a shard if it is already full, as you are casting Drain Soul. If it isnt full, it wont. Awesome. Thanks to "botmaster5" from Nostalrius forums.

      thx m8, trying my best, I appreciate the kind words. It is growing alright (well atleast people say) but not as fast as it can be, as sadly algorithm really don't suggest my videos a lot. I have some videos that performs awesome on paper (like people click it when they see and watch till end) but they don't get shown around much, so they get "stuck" =)

    have you tried this with felhunter? I leveled a lock several weeks ago (before pre patch) using this build/method and found that I slightly preferred felhunter because it had way way more mana available at all times for dark pact. So while the succubus would seem better at the start of an outing when she had full mana, she would oom quickly, while the felhunter takes a long time to oom even with you abusing dark pact/pulling multiple mobs/etc. You lose a decent amount of pet damage this way but gain so much personal damage, not to mention better utility against the mobs you're fighting (spell lock/dispel can be very handy). Succy is better at protecting against melee gankers so I did pull her out sometimes when I was worried about that.
    This _was_ before pre-patch so now that imp drain soul and a bunch of other things are different it may just be strictly better to go succy, but thought I'd throw out the idea to at least try felhunter for anyone out there reading and compare pet damage/personal damage/mana/etc.

    • @viaroka2625
      @viaroka2625  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      succubus and felhunter have exactly same mana and spirit, so both of them regenerate the mana the same way. But succubus have higher base melee damage, so it does more damage. If you have seen difference in mana, there can be only 1 things: you forgot to turn of all abilities, so succubus kept casting invisibility or lash of pain and consumed mana.

    • @EB-bl6cc
      @EB-bl6cc 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@viaroka2625 maybe its worth looking at simply turning off lash of pain then lol, the damage it brings may not be worth the dropoff of mana (or may *not* have been, again this was before pre-patch). For felhunter i had 0 abilities on auto-cast and succy i had only lash of pain

    • @decimus81
      @decimus81 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if your felhunter has more mana than succy you're doing something wrong, and it does less damage

    I'm not yet 40, but was eager to try the Improved Drain Soul talent and the mana return seems a bit random, sometimes I'm not getting 15% of my total mana, but much less, which is also very random number when this happens.

    • @viaroka2625
      @viaroka2625  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      there are only few reasons that can happen :
      1) you are already close to full mana. So it gives you the mana that can top you off, and rest is naturally disappeared. If you have 2000 mana, talent will give 300, but if you are at 1900/2000 mana, it will only give 100. Unlike heals, it wont show you total amount (like heal will shout 300 even if it is 280 overheal) , it will only show you the actual mana you get, removed the extra.
      2) You buffs/debuffs. It scales directly from max mana, so if you get a mage buff and get 2600 max mana, it will give 390, but if you have a debuff and droped to lets say 1700 mana, it will give 255.
      In the current version of game, I have killed thousands of mobs, never had any problem myself.

      @solshine2510 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@viaroka2625 And that was the case indeed - for some reason I thought that the log would show the exact 15% number, rather than what I'm actually getting depending on my actual mana level. Anyway, I just hit 40 and I'm really enjoying this play style, pulling stuff as I go, and it also frees some bag space since you no longer need to drink/eat:))) Thanks for this video!

    So I'd respec at 40? Or is it fine to build up following this talent tree to 40?

    • @viaroka2625
      @viaroka2625  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      if you want to play like this, you would need to get full affliction and get dark pact at lvl 40. And build on it as you go in. I have put lvl 40 and 50 suggested talents at description if you want to check out

    This is neat, but at this point wouldn't it be more efficient to spam shadowbolt and then drain soup at the end?

    • @viaroka2625
      @viaroka2625  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      no not really. Shadowbolt costs A LOT of mana, and gives nothing back. You see, you cast shadowbolt, and in this character it does about 400 damage each, costs about 265 mana. Now compare that do Drain Life : which drains about 88 health each seconds. It ends up doing 440 damage but also healing 440 health for the cost of 240 mana. And with Life tap talent : 440 health can be turned to 616 mana. So shadowbolt > -265 mana for 400 damage, Drain life +376 mana for 440 damage. Damage is slower, but at the end you never go out of mana, while shadowbolt spam is drinking for 30 seconds after every 2 kill.

    try this macro, deletes the soul shard if your bag is full as soon as you cast drain soul
    /use [nochanneling:drain soul]Drain Soul(rank 1)
    /run for i=1,4 do n=GetBagName(i)if n then if n:find('[Sl][oca][ulk]') then if GetContainerNumFreeSlots(i)==0 then PickupContainerItem(i,GetContainerNumSlots(i))DeleteCursorItem()break end end end end
