I just bought a brand new DelTon, with the "slim" full length(15") hand guard, and the full length pica tinny rail. No hideous fixed front sight post made into the gas block. Forward assist, and dust cover. Aircraft aluminum upper and lower. I installed aluminum dual aperture flip up sights, and a 2 MOA red dot on it. I've got less then $550 in everything, and I LOVE IT!!!!! You don't have to spend a fortune to have a nice AR.

Great builds. One operator recommendation - It isn’t advised to use the front of the mag well as your foregrip. I was doing it that way too, until I got trained up. Holding the rifle with so much of the barrel out in front of you makes it take longer to get it pointing in the direction you want, both from high/low guard and also after a shot(s) and muzzle lift...when getting your site picture back. Also, if someone other than you grabs the barrel while you’re holding the mag well you don’t have the leverage to throw them off, need leverage higher up on the barrel. Recommended to use the “C Clamp” grip farther up on the heat shield, or with an angled foregrip.

I was shocked when I saw you had a Ghost Skeletonized lower! I lived in Daytona for 4 years and picked the same one up from Holly Hill! I have about 1k rounds through mine with zero issues. I use mine as more of a precision rifle with a 20in heavy fluted barrel. Definitely not my 3 gun choice because I'm worried about a rock or something finding it's way inside the trigger housing. Significantly lighter though for sure! Loved the video and all of the different product reviews! Have a great day and stay safe guys!

My current build is based on a DPMS Oracle 5.56 like his friend's gun. I put the basic Magpul carbine foregrip and pistol grip on along with the MFT Minimalist shoulder stock, then a set of flip up sights with a gas block length front sight and standard rear sight, then I have a couple different optics. One is a UTG Bug Buster 1-4X32 and the other is a Pinty 1.5-4X30. Trying both out to see which I prefer.
Overall, the build is under $700.00 and It's set up pretty nice.

Great job bro, hope you keep this up. I'll check out your other vids. I also like the fact that you just say "hey I'm just a gun guy not a ninja/operator with 33 deployments to the devil's asshole... Should always start with the main parts. Barrel chamber, twist, profile, material and build process. Bolt type, material/coatings, testing (MPI, HPT). Gas system length (carbine, mid, rifle). Buffer system and weight. Upper/lower material and build process. Trigger single/double action, springs/pull weight, coatings, milspec or drop in. LPK quality. Have to start at the base for a good AR build. Then you can move onto the fun stuff like stocks, handguards, optics, lights, etc.

Your builds have a lot of thought into each weapons system and I see you tailored some of them for situations..!! Here comes the Butt Monkey..train with emphasis on improving your marksmanship..practice squeezing the trigger..and hold the trigger after weapon fires..then let up for the reset..!! Only time your trigger finger should come off the trigger is when your not engaging a target..!! This will make you a better marksman especially follow up shots..!! Good luck to you on all your endeavors..!!

That ACOG sadly looks a whole lot like the Chinese knock-offs. The real ones have the name physically on the side - not printed, they have cap cables to keep the turret caps connected, and they have a pin up front holding the fiber optic in place. If your buddy paid full price for that optic, he got swindled.

That was a MOE stock, not a CTR. Critical parts for a quality self defense build are: Viltor mil spec lower receiver extension tube, bolt carrier group from BCM, detent pins from Colt or BCM, barrel from FN,, BCM or Faxon, after market trigger group from Geissele, American Gold, etc, and a quality gas block from Geissele, SLR, etc.I prefer the SCS from JP which eliminates the retainer stud for the recoil spring. Purchase the Magpule BEV Block, Armorer's Wrench , Geissele Reaction Block to get the 40 ft pound castle nut torque needed without canting the buffer tube. A set pf roll pin starter punches, AR-15 PIVOT PIN DETENT INSTALLATION TOOL, BROWNELLS - BOLT CATCH PIN PUNCH. Hand guards are available from many places, but my favorite are from SLR "solo", and Faxon carbon fiber. Pistol grips are the same, but my favorite is the Magpul moe. My favorite stock is the old, but still my favorite Magpul CTR. Be sure to get a quality safety lever and gas tube.Last is a quality vice.

Anderson yeah I got one too, it is nice so far and I like the RF-85 treated parts which is everything on the rifle although it isn't very tight at 100 yds so far and I want to change that to make this rifle a tack driver or as tight as its ever gonna be. I like the trigger but I know it could be better than this stock make but it really doesn't feel that bad. I keep 3 extra batteries for my Leopold Red dot so I never am without power for battery related issues. Vortex are awesome optics for me so far, I like them and you don't have to go broke putting good glass on your weapons.

In the dramatic cinematic display of your cheap budget build; you know, the one with the expensive receiver, you have your hammer spring installed backwards, and it appears to be resting on top of the trigger pin. It will work like that for a little bit, but hopefully you noticed light primer strikes or had someone else tell you, and you have since fixed it. Bloopers roll.

    • @AndsoIdid
      @AndsoIdid 4 ปีที่แล้ว

That’s not really true. My geisselle trigger literally has grooves for the hammer spring to sit on the trigger pin. Its literally in the instructions It’s not supposed to be below it... that would cause less spring tension and could lead to light strikes

Not sure if I'm getting more pressure out of the chamber grind or more pressure out of the extra barrel length. I was under the impression that the. 223 Fiocchi burn was pretty complete with a 16 inch barrel.

Follow a couple ar 15 builders groups on Facebook. Go to tactical toolbox channel. He has some building videos and has lists with his videos. He's the first I recommend to anybody

I would recommend not using any polymer or plastic mags because they break faster as soon as you drop them they are done for I've done had a couple pmags mess up in the same spot top back of it splits open us metal mags and they will last longer guaranteed P.S.A has metal mags for around 10$ a pop cheaper and more reliable and guaranteed to last longer

First lower was a PSA? Any thoughts on their stuff

They are good to go if you are on a budget. They may not be as good as a bcm but for the price you pay and the quality you get they are really good.

My thoughts exactly, went up to PSA and picked on up. No problems yet, ran 500 rounds or so through it so far so i reckon she's just breaking in lol

Alex Taylor hopefully it works well for you. I built 2 of their rifles and both have around 500 rounds with tulammo and have never failed me yet.

@@alextaylor2145 ; If you consider that all forged receivers are made in 4 or 5 forges and if they are machined to spec. there can't be much difference between them , other than looks . Think of them as nothing more than fixtures that hold parts in a specific location . The heart of the rifle is the barrel and BCG and to a lesser degree the trigger . Your PSA lower is good to go .

Red Dot Need Huge pereferal.. And trust me having Exrtra add on clip on that is 4 times adde zoom that can be removed from clip on orspringed on side.. Will Help you find target.. Shoting is all about fijnding target first.. And AR wit no magnifier.. Is for 30 meters spoting.. you want to see if it is part of leg or head 50 m and shoting that is not smart.. So Prfect buuld Need Light Eotech. with 4 tims On ar.. 10 inc plus.. Or use gun with long barel Bater for cqb under 50 m.. ANd Speed is crucial..

I need help. I am new to guns and I was hoping to get a rifle for $600 under. My idea is a Scout rifle or Assault im not sure which would be better to shoot for. 30.06 or 308. Im not sure which bullet for Assault not .22 and i need to keep in mind the cheaper the bullet the better. Im looking for semi auto no bolt action with a mag. Keep in mind I live in california if that makes a difference. Thank you for all your help and suggestions.

I just purchased the Franklin CA12 boltaction repeater in 350 legend. Would I be able to take the lower and put a Semiautomatic upper in the same caliber? Just a hypothetical question.

i'd love to see a "review" on pistol combinations alone. i'm a newbie and i wanna build up several options to my pistol lowers. i would love to see a review of red dot viewers, side-angle iron sights, and forward hand grips... all that shit. just a full on review on pistol builds. lemma know when you, if you, complete one. cheers.
