We did the same thing in fall 2021; we used “Walk the Camino.” They did a fabulous job for us. Having our rooms reserved was a huge relief and our reasons were similar to yours except Covid was an even bigger concern. The baggage forwarding is fabulous; I used it while my husband carried his bag. You’re going to have a marvelous time. We go back in May to start walking from Cahors. Bon Chemin!

are you doing a part 2 for this video series? for my first one, i want to use this type of service and am wondering. below you mention some "bumps" and give them an 8/10. any other suggestions for finding a company with more 10/10 ratings? and yeah, i realize sometimes that ratings are in the mind of the pilgrim.

I’m on the Camino Norte now, and I have used Camino Ways again. Good accommodations and good baggage transport so I would say 8/10…
There are other Camino companies but as you say everyone‘s standards are different and mine are very high!

There are a few things I did which many did not do…
I checked out the entire itinerary and the distances and where I was staying (they only give you a sample itinerary initially so I did it 2x once with the initial and then with the final)
In some cases they had me calling to get picked up and driven out of town. This worked if there was no where else to stay but sometimes there are options and in those cases I wanted to stay in town so I pushed backed. They accommodated me - mostly but they always start with “ no changes” but I never accept “no” 😀
Also book rest days in big towns so you have something to do
Check distances between towns 20/25 is ok, longer can get tough
Oh and regardless of what the itinerary says it’s always 10% longer than what they say
Get a SIM card for your phone so you can find your hotel
But again, really familiarize yourself with your itinerary where you’re staying and how far you’re walking. Make sure you’re happy with it. !

Hi Sandy, I've so appreciated your videos. I'm wondering what your experience was like using Camino Ways. Would you recommend them?

Hi Donna, we used Camino Ways last year for Le Puy, I would give them an 8/10
It was coming out of the pandemic and a holy year for the Francis and I think they were short staffed and a little overwhelmed. The issues I had were with not huge although the biggie was they wanted us to stay 3km outside of Conques, the most historic town on the route, I refused and they let me cancel their place and I booked a hotel in town. Bumps, but a very good help line!
I have also used Follow the Camino they were very good as well, different itinerary so check both out
Also thx for your kind words if there's anything you would like me to cover in my videos just ask (I think I will start reading from my diary again as several people have requested that)
      Have a great walk Donna!

Two sisters, we are hoping to start from Le Puy mid August. When are you heading out?

We begin April 29, I’m fair skinned I need to walk when it’s cool…summer is a no go for me. I always walk late spring or fall but that’s just my necessity.
