"A distinct, cold, predatory darkness" is the best way I have ever heard someone describe the presence of evil. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful, Christ-centered message of hope and connection.
My grandpa passed away in Tahiti in 2015 while I was attending BYU-Hawaii. The connection with my girlfriend, who became my wife a year later, has strengthened me. The support from some classmates helped me a lot.
This is such a powerful message for all of us - the power of connection! Each of us experiences grief in our life, and certainly will have opportunities to comfort others who are grieving. Thanks for teaching us.
Thank you for sharing your great story! You have such a strong faith. Your powerful message and experiences in grief truly bring hope to others. How wonderful to see God’s helping hand in our lives.
This is beautiful counsel. Thank you dear sister for sharing your personal testimony and journey with us, this is definitely going to help so many people. There really is nothing more endearing and precious than the sweet gentle comfort and peace of the spirit.
Thank you for sharing your grief and your testimony on moving forward after the loss of a child. It has been 18 years since my 31-year-old son was murdered, and without the Light, I wouldn't have made it. Your talk and other resources the Church has provided seem to arrive just when I begin to descend into a pit of hopelessness and grief. He lifts me up through the connection of his word, your testimony, and other resources the church has provided.
While I was experiencing incredible Grief I couldn't find connection anywhere. I desperately searched for it I went to my Bishop, Stake president, parents, siblings, friends.... No one I felt so alone. I prayed to God and I felt him with me but I so desperately needed a hug. An "Everything will be ok." God knew I needed this suport and prompted me to contact several people none of these people took on the call to be their for my in my desperate time of need. Eventually I did find someone. They lived states away and could only be their for me long distance. I can not tell you how greatfull I am to that person and anytime anyone needs that connection and support I am right their. I know how important it is and probably would have never known unless I experienced that for my self.
I lost my Mom in July and have been struggling greatly with my grief. When this video popped into my feed I decided to see what she had to say. A choice I'm glad I made!
Megan Parker I lost my mom when I was 16, I know how hard it is. You’re not alone, and this woman is right, connection is the key. I stayed so close to my loved ones after my mom died and if it wasn’t for them I would’ve have made it this far. Remember she loves you, she’s with you, pray to her and God.
I lost my wife of 35 years in April 2020. I'm working hard to become worthy to enter the temple and be sealed to her for eternity. This video helped me tremendously.
Hi @GarthBennett-u8f, we're so sorry for your loss. We know comfort and healing can come through prayer and by relying on Jesus Christ at this difficult time. He loves you and can mend your heart and give you peace. www.churchofjesuschrist.org/comeuntochrist/believe/life-has-purpose/grief?cid=42001274
I'm sorry you're going through that. I've been on the other side: mourning a parent that's still alive. I healed, but it took a long time. It's hard to find closure when someone's still alive. Especially since I -at the time- still frequently saw this person. For me, it took a lot of hard work to forgive and accept the new normal. One thing that helped: shouting out all my anger and frustration and hurt to God. Nobody understands like He does. And it kept me in touch with Him throughout my darkest days. I have ADD so not thinking wouldn't be an option for me, otherwise I would have prob done just that. However, the downside of not feeling is also denying yourself to feel love and joy. Not feeling is not really being alive. You deserve to live. Fully. Happily. For what it's worth: I'll pray for you. One day your open wound will be a sensitive scar. But you will feel joy again. Keep the hope.
Hi Ally. I am in the depths of grieving the loss of a daughter myself. It’s different. It’s the loss of a daughter that I will never have. I realize it’s different but my grief is deep and heavy. I’m coming to terms with the fact that I will never have her. So there’s no one for me to be reunited with someday.

I have three questions: 1. What definition of connection is this video using? 2. What are some specific examples of connection? 3. What are some specific examples of seeking connection?
It's nice to say connection is what you need, but connection is a 2 way street and it really seems to me that adults really aren't interested in new connections. Everyone says they are lonely, but no one puts even 1% effort into a friendship.
It seems like friendship/connections have been replaced by computers and social media. Frustrating this problem further is the Pandemic which has encouraged isolation and loneliness to reach totally new levels. Many lonely people are totally cut off and suffering. Watching TH-cam, NetFlix, Chatting online, facebook, etc. is no substitute for physical connection that humans need. Our bodies/brains are not wired for this robotic version of interacting with other human beings. We have been duped by high tech, money hungry corporations (Google, Facebook, Instagram, TH-cam, etc.) who are promoting this unhealthy lifestyle. They have turned us into robots who are addicted to looking at screens for comfort. We have become so used to this new normal way of connecting that we have lost a part of ourselves. I wish computers were never invented. I know that I was happier without computers. There is also the question of what caused this covid-19 virus. Is it a man-made plague that was manufactured in a gain of function lab or is it a curse from God to punish us for our evil ways? What do you think? Stay safe.
I feel that way right now. I have tried so many times to have meaningful friendships, and more than I’d like to admit, the other person has not tried at all. Adults need connections too. Please, please whoever reads this, if someone reaches out, reach back, even if it’s awkward, and please spiritually get your “feelers “ out there for someone who may be hurting, you never know when you can change a life for the better. Dekunutcase, I sincerely wish you all the best. May lasting connections be yours. All I know is never give up, there are reasons for difficulty. Sometimes those difficulties are what guide us to where we’re supposed to be, and that’s when blessings follow. God bless you
Hi @Y'ra Exal'ga S'kgs, thanks for your comment. We're glad you watched the video and learned something from the speech. We hope you'll check out other videos on our channel and at comeuntochrist.org. Take care!
The Church of Christ is the only true Church. LDS Y'all's book contradicts the Bible. Read both, and you'll see. My wife was a Mormon, she's not. The Bible doesn't need another book. Every thing is in the Bible. Love y'all.🙏
Hi @Ricky Cowan, thanks for sharing your perspective. Members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (sometimes nicknamed Mormon or LDS) believe the Book of Mormon is a companion to the Holy Bible, not a replacement or substitute to it. The Book of Mormon testifies of Jesus Christ as our Savior, and, like the Bible, is holy scripture containing the word of God. We invite everyone to read the Book of Mormon, sincerely study its message, and pray to ask God if it is true. You or others interested can learn more here: th-cam.com/video/nyV61Hh9KdA/w-d-xo.html Merry Christmas!
Please explain your statement in greater detail. I am not a Mormon, but I am curious to learn more. Blasphemy and idolatry are evil. I agree. However, I need help understanding your point of view. What specifically is the blasphemy and what are examples of idolatry?

I lost my grandma back before thanksgiving. I read my Bible and Book of Mormon daily and I pray. It keeps me going
My father passed away in May 2020. I needed to hear this. I am grateful. I am still processing.

I don’t know what’s worse, losing a child or knowing that they’re still here alive but they just don’t care about you at all.

I have no Hope !
There always hope. How can I help you?
There is always hope in Christ.
Greatest evil is blasphemy and idolatry; of which the Mormons are prime examples.
Please explain your statement in greater detail. I am not a Mormon, but I am curious to learn more. Blasphemy and idolatry are evil. I agree. However, I need help understanding your point of view. What specifically is the blasphemy and what are examples of idolatry?
What lives in you are the things that you practice and nurture.
