My bday is coming up and I was gonna get the other Edifice you had reviewed and I'm hoping this one is a small one because of my scarily small 6 inch wrists... Keep it up Ben!!
This is a cleverly thought out homage design. At first when you said 51mm L2L, I thought it would look ridiculous on my tiny wrist. But as it worked on yours, I could definitive be rocking this. I'm one of those that think the Edifice logo is a bit much, but can live with it. Really love the structure of the dial, and 100m wr is really good.
I know GShock is famous everywhere.. but why it looks like no one pay attention to the Hidden masterpiece.. Casio Oceanus.. for being a Great Watch , I still can't brain why it's so underrated
I don't know that it's underrated. I think it's just not sold widely enough to get a lot of attention. Additionally, if someone has $500 US to blow on a watch, they will likely not even know that Casio has a premium watch for them to consider---if they're willing to buy in the Japanese market and have it shipped in.
Your reviews are brilliant and so is your attention to detail. There's one bugbear I have that you don't and that's the length of the minute hand for so many watches. I think they should be longer, up to the minute markers. The fact that they are not puts me off buying these brilliant value watches. I'll try and get some counselling or something. Maybe hypnotherapy would work. Yes, I have bought a digital for the first time in decades.
I'll buy the black dial version you highlighted soon. I have a few inexpensive watches (even a Glycine combat chrono) and enjoy the hobby. To include amateur smithing and modding. But what want is the the watch I wear everyday. The anthracite dial turtle sp-something-23. Out of production, almost gone and up to 4-500 USD. And I'm old broke live aboard sailor. Credit to Casio for knowing the market. But they could put this on a solid bracelet and apply some killer lume at around 200 USD and have a winner. It's got the style, brand cache (buyers trust), sapphire, percieved dependability, etc. The Edifice line should be the cut above. Go the extra distance for us enthusiasts. Probably think they already are. But every Edifice model, nope. Set an Edifice standard, sapphire, lumezilla, solid bracelet, jeweled quartz movements on metal plates.... ...some models at 200-250 USD.... and stick it to the competition. The Chinese homages like San Martin or Chronos (and others) have solid offerings. But I haven't bought one yet. Won't be long now. If they don't price themselves out of running, which is happening now. Maybe Casio knows this. I wrote an effen novel, sorry.
Those metal bezel kits for the GA-2100 can look great, but the heavy metal bracelet still attaches to the resin lugs creating a weak point. Edifice has the better octagonal steel watches for those in need. This EFR-S108D, the solar powerd EFS-S570d with chronograph, and the top of the line EQB-1100, which has solar and bluetooth. Look for the "YD" models and not the "D" models to get one with a milled clasp and solid links. Different countries get different models, and there's an appropriate price difference.
A good looking watch with a great size... however, that integrated cheap bracelet that makes it nearly impossible to change to an after market one with a bit more quality just puts me out of that one :/ Thank you for another great review
Great review Ben once again. As I'm not err... "currently" in the market for an AP Royal Oak so seeing your different options is of great interest to me. The Casioak looks great but is slightly larger than my shed but given the recent weather in the UK it is way more resilient to water than that of said shed. Now, that Edifice is definitely a worthwhile look, as with Casio watches that I have the second hand aligns well with the minute markers and the gold tone second hand contrasts well with the dial. I'm not usually a fan of a date at 3 but as this resides inside the hour marker I 'm OK with it. I might just have a look at this one post lock down..... or I just buy one.
Ben I have a suggestion for a video. Why not give yourself a budget of say £150 sterling and throll through all the second hand Web sites and buy the best watch you can get for the £150 including p+p. BUT the one rule you must abide by the watch must have been readily available at some time from a hight street shop so no online only sales it must have been or available from a bricks and mortar shop. And to make things harder the watch must be complete with its box and and any accessories it was sold with. No rule on age.
Wonderful review as always Ben. This watch has been on my collection list for a very long time. Plus, this edifice and oceanus watches are so underrated. If you don't mind can you review the casio edifice EFS-S570DB which is very similar to this one with extra functions. I'm looking forward to purchase that watch but can't find a good review. Thank you.
+1, I just wanted to mention about Edifice EFS-S570D. It's for sure larger one so wont fit you that much as this one, but anyway I am curious what do you think.
i do like this 108 but 38mm too small... they need make two sizes 38 and at least a 42mm !!! thats the only thing that puts me off this ..great review as always Ben.
I'd love a review on the larger S107 that you showed here. Been meaning to get that for myself but haven't seen it reviewed by any of the channels I follow.
If there's one thing the influencer brands have taught us it's that quality is irrelevant. Design is nice to have but it just needs to be good enough. Marketing is where it's at. And G-Shock has marketing. Therefore G-Shock will remain dominant as it's its own brand and in fact one of the only brands a normie will know offhand
Is there any advantage, from a cost-standpoint, of having integrated lugs? Suppose Casio outsources bracelets to another company and said co. charges additional amounts for endlinks, hence Casio goes for the integrated option to save on bracelet costs. However, Casio now has to make a unique case that supports the integrated bracelet - which as we can see, requires more machining and material than a typical case - at a lower cost than purchasing the endlinks. I can't imagine the latter being cheaper than the former (not like the would-be endlinks requires lots of inputs) so what's the reason?
This S108D is better than the S107 with the green accents. It wears so much better. The lugs turn downward while the lugs on the S107 basically stick straight out. And that’s why I returned it and bought the S108D instead. I have a 6.5 inch wrist, for reference.

A very neat and stylish piece. Put on the radar.... Nice review as always.
I might just buy this after getting my own Seiko 5.
This Casio is so fantastic, I never seen a watch like this combination oak with elegance of edifice
I prefer the Lineage which you reviewed and I got my mom to buy me. One of my best investments. Thanks
Well, one of your moms best investments. One of your best ideas!
I have a 6.5 inch wrist and the GA2100 fits me fine, because it's slim and shaped well it doesn't wear anywhere near as large as the numbers suggest.
Buy the white version and it looks good on my wrist. Thanks Ben
The owner of many g shocks the Tiffani version of this is simply the best buy for the money in the Casio range. Only shortfall is the snap back.
The proportions of this watch is sweet!
This one looks indeed beter than the g shock model. It is good to see thst there are a lot more options. Nice video
Thanks for the review. That is one beautiful watch.
Thank you Ben. I did not know about this cool Casio.
Nice tip! Could be tempted by the white dial version.
thanks for another nice find Ben. nice to have refreshing options without having to go the aliexpress route :D keep up the good work mate
Casio is probably the only brand that caters to us poor folks with some wonderful and sturdy pieces.
3:31 Great music!!! Love that song, Home is a great musician
These are popping up in the watch groups, I suspect these will be hard to get soon. They look great, and I can see why people would want one.
Woww the white dial one looks gorgeous as well
This is a way better comparison pal well done keep up these great info videos 😉
Love it, been tracking the price for a while, waiting for it to drop to £80.
This video will probably cause the price to go up
I'd love a review on the larger S107 that you showed here.
Wow thank you! It looks great, added to my wishlist haha.
Love the watch and love your review. I'm sold.
Nice video as always! Great alternative choice and fairly priced!
Thank You for a Great Review! I like the Time Piece! Beautiful Elegant looking Watch. I like the Black Dial Best!
Nice, though the dial is too busy and the metal is too shiny for my liking.
This has so much going for it..8mm thick! Very nice👌
Hi Ben .that's s pretty handsome watch. Good review again and I'm about to look on Amazon right now.Best regards.😺😀
This is soooo good. But most likely will be hard to find in NA market. Good find Sir!
This S108D is better than the S107 with the green accents. It wears so much better. The lugs turn downward while the lugs on the S107 basically stick straight out. And that’s why I returned it and bought the S108D instead. I have a 6.5 inch wrist, for reference.
Hello Ben, great video as usual- and great job as well - It it already temporarily out of stock at Amazon, following your link. 🤷🏻♂️🤨
Can you pls review the casio oceananus??A very good looking watch ignored by everyone.
Any opinion on Officine Panerai watches?
Hi Ben, I got the 110D after your appraisal, lovely little watch.
This model also make my wallet twitch, does it have a screw down crown buddy?
Regards,
Dazza. 🇬🇧
Hi Dazza, for some reason my last reply got deleted by TH-cam I think. Either way, from memory I don't think this model does.
Cheers,
Ben
@@BensWatchClub - Cheers for the reply mar mate! 😉👍
I got this watch for a couple week, this is my fav watch now except sizing the bracelet.
Thanks for the review Ben, nice watch, is the bracelet easy to adjust? I couldn't see the usual arrows on the back.
