They are in fact allowed to win (because why wouldn't they?) and if they would win, they have an agreement with the EBU to team up with an European country to 'co-host' the ESC (like it will be the case next year with the UK and the Ukraine).

I think it is easier to do well when you're just starting or returning from a break. But the fact this didn't win makes me think it will be hard for Australia to ever win as they will always struggle in the televote.
Trumby she is an Australian through and through. She’s lived here the majority of her life and is an Australian citizen. It is a migrant country. Most people are 2nd or 3rd generation born Australian’s and lots of people were from other countries and moved here. I’m ethically Greek, that doesn’t make me any less Australian

Dami Im's performance from this particular concert is actually even better than her performance in the studio version (even better, because this standard studio version is also very strong, of course thanks to Dami's vocal skills). And here, in this live version - there is more expression and these so-called "sound ornaments" or "additional voices" and intonations - I don't know what they are called professionally, because I'm no vocalist expert :) Anyway, I hope you understand what I mean :) Hats off to Dami Im for her vocal skills and captivating, expressive voice! She really is a top-class singer. BTW. I don't know why I downloaded an mp3 of this song in the studio version instead of the "live" one. I have to fix it immediately :) Or not! I'll keep this studio version and have both, because Dami deserves to hear her voice in every version, every shape and every configuration:) Health for Dami! It wasn't that Jamala's song wasn't good, or well sung, or beautiful, but this just has such an ANTHEM vibe to it. It gets people together, it's catchy, and goddamn the vibe it must of brought to that arena, I can't imagine, I would of given anything to watch her perform this. She looks incredible, the staging was amazing, and holy hell her voice... that's why I thought this was the true winner in my opinion.
I don't know for me this was a good song but "dime a dozen" type of a good song. Even staging is kind of boring, she was siting on a box. come give us some emotions, you are on Eurovision! Dami, Zlata, Yohanna, Anne Marie David, Vicky Leandros, Kaliopi, Severine and obviously Celine Dion are in my opinion the best female performers ever heard on that stage. They are just another league for this competition. They can sing the content of a bill, making that a masterpiece
Personally, I think Loreen is the greatest vocalist ever to peform in Eurovision, followed by Aminata. Dami is top 5 for sure, maybe even 3 for me. She should have won that year though, Dami was the best.
I was there in the Audience that evening, and when she didn’t win it was such a deception. I couldn’t even remember the winning song. Dami was by miles better then the rest there.

The only explanation that I can give for this is that the public are mostly people who are joining late and only listen to the replays, and they give 12 points to the people who scream because they think it's impressive. And Australia were performing in the middle of the running order, compared to Ukraine who were near the bottom, and the most points go to the countries who are near the bottom of the running order. But even then, it makes no sense.

Dami is such a phenomenal artist. She has been a absolute standout at Eurovision and representing Australia. She was robbed of winning the contest, despite coming second with the jury votes, she should have won ! Her vocals are just AMAZING and this song proves it.
Dami actually won the jury votes with an unassailable lead. It was the public votes that robbed her, she arrived in Stockholm late finishing off her tour first then produced her Eurovision video within 24 hrs working around the clock. She definitely was robbed !

I know Dami can consistently go high 6 Octaves as she did with Purple Rain, most Artists can go 4-5 Maximum...What makes Dami special is she combines those HighPowerful notes seamlessly with the lower, angelic notes.

Dami has the most versatile voice I've ever heard. Her voice is that of a soprano; yet, she can sing Gospel, ballads, pop, rock, jazz, anthems, contemporary, classical, Broadway etc. If you are not familiar with her, I suggest that you check out her journey on X-Factor and damiimVEVO videos. She is also a very talented musician who can play piano, violin and flute. I have seen her sing in English, Korean, Chinese and Japanese. In short, Dami is a world class talent that needs to be discovered by the world!!!

It wasn't that Jamala's song wasn't good, or well sung, or beautiful, but this just has such an ANTHEM vibe to it. It gets people together, it's catchy, and goddamn the vibe it must of brought to that arena, I can't imagine, I would of given anything to watch her perform this. She looks incredible, the staging was amazing, and holy hell her voice... that's why I thought this was the true winner in my opinion.

The only explanation that I can give for this is that the public are mostly people who are joining late and only listen to the replays, and they give 12 points to the people who scream because they think it's impressive. And Australia were performing in the middle of the running order, compared to Ukraine who were near the bottom, and the most points go to the countries who are near the bottom of the running order. But even then, it makes no sense.

Dami is such a phenomenal artist. She has been a absolute standout at Eurovision and representing Australia. She was robbed of winning the contest, despite coming second with the jury votes, she should have won ! Her vocals are just AMAZING and this song proves it.
Dami actually won the jury votes with an unassailable lead. It was the public votes that robbed her, she arrived in Stockholm late finishing off her tour first then produced her Eurovision video within 24 hrs working around the clock. She definitely was robbed !

Her voice is that of a soprano; yet, she can sing Gospel, ballads, pop, rock, jazz, anthems, contemporary, classical, Broadway etc. If you are not familiar with her, I suggest that you check out her journey on X-Factor and damiimVEVO videos. She is also a very talented musician who can play piano, violin and flute. I have seen her sing in English, Korean, Chinese and Japanese. In short, Dami is a world class talent that needs to be discovered by the world!!!
