At 27.10 he says our thoughts and feelings - at this point of human evolution - block our capacity to experience God. Yet Jesus appears to have been a very emotional person and very capable of using words powerfully. So if we persevere in contemplative practice maybe we experience feelings and thoughts differently. Fr Keating has developed a lovely capacity to speak, communicate. Hope I meet him in spirit eventually.

Thank you, thank you for your identification of the talk given by Fr. Thomas! Who ever the person is--- thank you again! I has suggested this be done retroactively for all the video expositions that are on TH-cam. It would be wonderful if someone could do bv this for all videos on Coutreach channel. The year, location and purpose behind the.conference is of specific interest for those pursuing his teaching... for comparison and Observation of growth.

companionship with neighbors is greatly effective with a tool developed by Eugene Gendlin called Focusing. This guy is lovely, he has common sense an uncommon gift

How does Gendlin's Focusing differ from CP?

@@Andrew-yw6kt Contemplative Prayer, Centering prayer. Lovely attention, being present with whatever is here with me inside. Once I am aware of the thought, I just say to "it" with acceptance and Love "you can be here and I am now with Him who lives in me, later you can call my attention ". Later could be a Focusing session with someone else or an autofocusing encounter with myself

When up can be down; as in the case of technological barbarism. Even self defense becomes a slippery slope and a paradox in war . Far better to pursue the corporal works of mercy which uplift the human condition than an eternal war footing. So it's often a case of attitude. Forgiveness is a form of ❤ 😍. To err is human to forgive is to be in companionship with God.

What book does he note in the beginning about the meaning of war? Anybody know? Was it -War is a Force that Gives Us Meaning- by Chris Hedges?

He's Catholic. Not all Christians are literalists regarding evolution. Origen, Augustine and many early Christians didn't take Genesis as "history" in the modern empirical sense of the word.

Macro evolution (the transformation of a substantial form into another) doesn’t make sense on a metaphysical level.
