    That Carbon Fiber bracket is legit.
    And the complete fire suppression install. Chef's Kiss*

      I'm hoping the log book inspector doesn't say to remake it from metal. Fingers crossed.

    Sir, everything you do is clinical, and I love it. It’s so satisfying watching someone do something complicated correctly and in great detail.

    Just a quick tip from a mechanic - if you're going to be working in tight spaces, a reasonable set of ratcheting wrenches is a must! Pick up a mid-high range brand like GearWrench and you'll wonder why you haven't done it sooner! Hit me up if you want/need purchasing advice. Great video, can't wait to see that baby on track!

      Gearwrench is a fantastic value for the quality you get

    We found that the switch for the control box could be accidentally turned off while on track by the drivers elbow or suit when mounted in that location on our RM11.

    I feel your pain working in some of those areas. The sailplane can be just as tight and fiddly. Good vid!

    I haven't seen your other channel but stumbled across this one a few weeks ago and love it. HEAPS jealous but can't wait for the next vedio. The attention to detail and level headed approach is satisfying.

    stumbled across this channel and these videos are fantastic bro. i run my radical all on my own and its been a journey.... and there's no howto guides on anything. I'm sure there's a lot more out there who actually could do motorsport and run cars themselves if they knew how. I saw your background story, very similar to mine, luckily here in the UK there were a few radicals in the £35-£45k bracket, but there's no F1000 cars or series anywhere in europe - i'd rather have an F1000. Looking forward to seeing you getting it on track!

    Even in f1 teams have used 3d parts like steering wheels

  • @Bavariaria

    Do you worry at all about drilling holes in structural pieces of the tube chassis? Rather than some sort of bracket that just attaches to the chassis without any holes?
    Love this channel btw!

    • @TTRacingYT
      @TTRacingYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      I do. It was debated with friends and U wanted to keep it to a minimum. There are other rivnuts in the chassis around the cockpit, I added the minimum which was four more.

    IF THERE IS A FIRE WONT THE MOUNTS MELT?

    • @TTRacingYT
      @TTRacingYT  ปีที่แล้ว

      If it is on fire for that long the system would have already emptied and failed. With that flexible tube, everything pretty stays in place without cable ties and mounts. There's a good amount of redundancy built in.

    Can you press the extinguisher button when wearing your full race gear? It was a pretty small recessed button.

    Fittings which pass through bulkheads are simply called bulkhead fittings.
    I don't know if it is a down under thing or it's lost in translation, however you are the first person I have ever heard take the intials of the Federation International l'Automobile. (F I A) and make it into the pronouncable word. Feee ahhh Never heard it referred to as anthing other than the letters EFF EYE AYE

    Is it a fully manual system or does it have some sensors in case you are knocked out in the event of a crash?

    • @kimifan06
      @kimifan06 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      manual. you wouldn't want it to go off every crash, since the car usually doesn't catch on fire. it makes a big mess and is a pain get refilled, install, etc.

    • @TTRacingYT
      @TTRacingYT  ปีที่แล้ว +7

      To add to this, the big stickers on the outside will let a Marshall know where to find the button in case the system is needed and I can't activate it.

      F1000 lap record there is a 53.1. A more common time would be around 55 seconds.

      @@TTRacingYTLol, English colloquialisms don't all follow the same rule. This is why people say A-B-S instead of "abs" system. Almost no one says "fia", it's like calling the IRS the "irs", you can, people just don't though
