  • Here's a lovely example of the classic 1968 BSA 441 Shooting Star, the roadster version of the famous 441 Victor Special dual-purpose machine. This narrow, nimble and torquey thumper is not only gorgeous, but a joy to ride through the twisties! Here I demonstrate a cold start (and THEY said these British singles were hard to start! Pshaw!)...thump-thump-thrump!

I have a 68 and a 67. They are a blast on the back roads.

Bought a used '67 Victor in '72. Mag ignition, no key switch, no instruments, no paint on the tank. She ran very well and only broke three times! Out of the 50 plus bikes I've had over 55 years, that Victor is still a standout! My heart leaps every time I see one!

Stephan: As you know, these are very visceral machines. It seems their idle pulse matches with our own heartbeat and when the revs pick up, so does our heart rate! A real primal connection between the rider and the ridden few machines have anymore... ~ Dave

Great looking and sounding bike. I rode a B40 in the (British) Army a couple of times in the 70s. Yours is in a different league.

No, YOU'RE in a different league, my friend! You rode in the British Army on a BSA 350? My tweed flatcap is off to you, sir!

Still a head turner even now, just love those looks, ditto the Victor "Special" model . . .Great bikes, nice roller big end, keep that oil changed regularly and it will surely go and go . . .
