1955 BSA A10 650 Rideby
See the Cold-Start Video I've uploaded as well. Starts one kick, hot or cold!
This 1955 BSA 650cc A10 is a rare home market model in the US, in original maroon livery and with the larger UK-market petrol tank. All original, starts first kick every time and runs "sweet as a nut" as the Brits like to say.
If you're new to classic British bikes, this model could well be the most easy to own, to maintain and to ride, from the Classic 1950s era when BSA was the largest manufacturer of motorcycles in the world.

Jump in and ride shotgun with me in this fabulously restored 1956 Continental Mk II (NOT a Lincoln, by the way), possibly the most gorgeous classic American car of all time. Demonstrated here are the full instrumentation (including tachometer), power windows. power seats, air conditioning and more. The full two-tone leather interior in this restored example is absolutely gorgeous!
Prototype and ONLY Trackmaster Hinckley Triumph

This is a unique motorcycle. One-of-a-kind. It is the prototype for a Trackmaster Triumph that was planned for series production, but Trackmaster went belly up before they could put it into production. This is the ONLY one ever built for the Hinckley-built Triumph. It is a 95%-completed project. The nickle-plated, chromoly frame is a work of art, as was Trackmaster's legend. A little bit of sor...

Here's a lovely example of the 350cc Triumph "Twenty-One" (350cc is 21 cubic inches) in polychromatic blue, a particularly attractive colour on the full-bodied little twin. Thanks for your comment! This particular BSA was an older British restoration, and was in this condition when I acquired it around 15 years ago. Restorations done in the UK back when these were still fairly plentiful and "cheap as chips" were not done to the extremely high "showroom or better" standards of today. Other bikes of mine on here were restored by me, some others were acquired already restored, and some are unrestored originals.

    What’s that stupid exhaust about

    • @HumberNorton
      @HumberNorton 16 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Billy: That "stupid exhaust" is actually the original factory exhaust system on the BSA B50MX. It's admittedly, a stupid system, an extra 25 pounds of chromed steel on a lightweight racing machine, and I have no idea what the "geniuses" at BSA were thinking while their whole empire was sinking in 1973. Maybe it had to comply with some noise regulations in the USA? Anyway, probably nobody raced their BSA B50MX with that double-megaphone system, and took them off. Then they got lost, discarded, etc. So the few with the original "stupid" exhaust are extremely rare and the exhaust system itself is worth $1000!

    Nice build. Though I'm not sure if it is possible to fit a centre stand to a Manx frame. Nor can I see any of the frame fittings for oiling primary chain. Can't tell what the wheels come from. Anyway I'd say a Manx styled wideline featherbed framed, Goldie powered bike built in fashion of the late fifties and the sixties.

      That "whistle" sound you recall was what was known in the industry and hobby as the "twitter." It was a function of the cam overlap and the shape of the silencer and baffles within. And indeed, the stock Gold Star silencer has been referred to as the "twitter pipe" ever since.

    The tank looks too small like the Hummer125 tank on some Sportsters. The room for your ass & a gallon of gas gets old and sometimes aggravating when you run dry and you are too old to push it to the gas station ⛽. Stopping for gas every 100 miles is annoying as well.

    • @HumberNorton
      @HumberNorton 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All a matter of personal taste. The BSA Hornet was a race machine, pure and simple. It excelled at Class C racing (flat track, TT) as well as rough scrambles and desert. The tank was as big as it needed to be, so why add unnecessary bulk and weight? This example has a factory lighting kit added. The fiberglass tank was over 2 gallons (not one gallon as you stated), and looks in perfect proportion to the machine. I think most other vintage bike aficionados would disagree with you, but when you buy yours, you can always fit the 4- or 5-gallon UK-market tank off a Spitfire Mk II, which makes the bike look like a pregnant guppy...but that's just MY opinion.
