Great video I always learn something from watching this channel I have always just used a tape measure to see if the rear wheel is a line but your measurement tool is definitely the way to go and I love the safety wire on the Master link
BSA=Bastard Stopped Again 😁 I had 6 of these over the years 2 had Weslake top ends with no compression releases Put a squirt down the plug hole, If it starts then idle jet is plugged 👍
A B44 is very easy to start but absolutely must take it past tdc until the exhaust valve is starting to open (you can feel it through the valve lifter lever when the pushrod pushes against the exhaust rocker arm) It's no good taking it "just past tdc" Do not open the throttle But do turn the idle screw in half a turn If you have Boyer ignition fitted it'd be best to only turn the ignition on a few seconds before kicking Overwise if you kick it over to get past tdc the Boyer will think the engine is running and advance the ignition when you are trying to kick it over Of course this is assuming there's nothing else wrong with the bike
Just confirmed it, I thought that background looked very familiar. Grew up in Glendale '55-'81. While working in Bagdad Az knew a guy who had a 441 Victor. That bike would always kick back when attempting to start

I gave up fighting my 441 to start. I love my BSA C-15 250's because they are so easy to start. That's why the Victor had only 6,000+ miles on her.😂
@15.33 Something er 'exhales'😆
Timing check and if just over tdc ain;t working mix it up and try just coming to tdc; knee allowing.

Also the lights are on. This will be draining power from the ignition circuit which Boyers don't like.
You are right! I hadn't noticed that when I was kicking it! The rear brake switch was loose. I adjusted it. Good eye! Thanks.
Absolutely right. "just past tdc" is not close enough, and NO THROTTLE !!
pilot jets r ur nemesis
