@@schumi246Personally, not even Imola 1994 is the scariest day in F1 history. For me, it’s the 1961 Italian Grand Prix when Wolfgang von Trips collided with Jim Clark and was killed along with 15 spectators
@@drewgriffithsfm I'd like to add Zandvoort 1973, Roger Williamsson crashed and David Purley parked his car to help out, trying to flag down other drivers to help out, the other drivers thought that it was Davids car that was on fire and since there wasn't a red flag, they simply drove past the accident. If even 1 or 2 drivers had stopped, they could've maybe overturned Williamssons car and gotten him out since their suits were more fireproof than the marshalls. Senna passing is painful in 1994. I just started a month ago healing from my 8th shoulder surgery and I love competing. What a horrific end to a really crappy week. I remember just standing frozen in front of my TV that entire time. My wife walked down the stairs and saw me just standing there with absolutely zero expression on my face. Just terrifying when I saw that fireball in the broadcasting background.
A horrific crash and Romain survived. What if he was knocked unconscious from the 67G impact? Could he have been saved? Romain saved himself to a great degree, unbuckling his seat belt and getting out then assisted by race staff. It was a horrifying moment, a feeling of certain death and like a miracle he was alive escaping. The Halo’s biggest test for safety and great example it works. We have seen it work protecting driver heads and necks when cars fall on top of each other but this crash was extraordinary. Romain is alive due to the Halo. It probably would have saved Jules Bianchi.
i was there with my dad when it happened, absolutely terrifying. all you could hear was people screaming “ GET HIM OUT.” when the car when up with flames all you could hear was gasps all around. when he jumped out the fireball everyone cheered.
I'm so glad I missed seeing this live, I watched Marco Simocelli's last race and that was a horrible feeling. Only reason I missed watching this was because it was my wedding.
I've been an F-1 fan since the late 60's early 70's so I remember the times when drivers were killed regularly. Grosjean said that 28 seconds seemed like a minute 30 but to me watching the race live it seemed much longer than that. I still actually shuddered writing this. Miracle he made it out.

As a spectator of F1 since 1963, I can assure you this is certainly not the scariest day in F1 neither was Imola 1994 but they were tragic.
