Your last remarks hit me. I'm 4 months post-op I'm down 58pds I feel like I'm stalling again like I've lost all I'm ever gonna lose. But your exactly right Dr A. It's bad decisions that hurt my journey the most!! God bless and thank you for all your do!!! ❤
Your a great doctor, Dr A! I'm a little over a year out, you did my surgery and I'm down 123 pounds today I'm wearing a size 6 in pants haven't worn a size 6 since I was a teenager thank you!
After 2yrs of my sleeve I have not gained my weight back which I am grateful to Dr.A’s impeccable performance of my sleeve and this video addresses the panic I get sometimes when I eat a bit too much. I have realized my stomach can take more liquids and soft food like soups, and mashed potatoes which may contain additional ingredients verses one whole solid potatoes or a piece of fish. I also started practicing when I worried about my sleeve stretching I start back eating a very consistent smaller portions of food which helps my sleeve feels better.
I’m 3 years post op and had lost 200 lbs, I’ve gained back 40 lbs. It’s definitely scary, I’m back to my basics again. It’s easy to eat little more as time goes. 😢 thank you for the info Dr. Alvarez.
I am in the UK and am a little over a year post sleeve gastrectomy surgery. I have thought about this subject at times so I am very grateful for this video. My sleeve doesn't feel as tight like the months following surgery where I felt very full quickly. Sometimes I wish it still did, but I get initially like you explained its the swelling ect following the procedure. The NHS (National Health Service) did my surgery, a wonderful surgeon and bariatric team.
@Jj-wx4vi my journey started just as COVID hit. I had six months of conversing via telephone with a behaviour specialist and a dietician. I was then referred to the bariatric team at my local hospital. It took a long time due to the pandemic, however last year the pace really picked up and finally it happend. Despite going private, I hope your journey is going well.
My son just asked me this question the other day! I just passed my 1 yr post op with Dr.A. 75 lbs down!!💪💪💪

How Long can a Person Live After Gastric Sleeve Surgery?
Doesnt affect longevity. If something it probably prolongs it
