- I installed this 3rd row seat in my 2021 ford bronco. I made a custom mount that sits directly on the floor and straps to the existing D rings with ratchet straps
The seat is from Amazon and is a bestop for a jeep CJ

That's awesome I was going to do this with a Suburban I had because my now ex and I had too many kids for the 3 row and needed a 4th row.

Awesome work! The only thing I would worry about is side impact airbags missing in the 3rd row, and some heavy bracing on the sides exposed. Be best to add some cushioning to at least one side.

For a more permanent solution, you could always remove the tie-down points in the cargo area and use them as the tie-in for your seat bracket. The screws aren't very big, but I imagine you could drill/tap for bigger screws, and that would probably satisfy for street-legality as well.
Good thought. I had thought of doing that too, but wanted to be able to remove the seats if needed

I would make sure whatever you're doing is a low chance of roll over
LR Defender 110, LR Discovery, LR RR, Toyota Land Cruiser, Toyota 4Runner, Lexus LX600, Lexus GX470, Infiniti QX80, Nissan Armando, and the Toyota Sequela all have legal federal 7 seats.
The 4Runner and base model 110 wheelbase LR Defender with the 7 seat option (can be had with 5 seats and also a 6 passenger 3+3 layout with a front bench).
Those are boring or too big.
The doors come off none of those SUV

We have an expedition max as well. They just don’t do so good on Sedona or Moab trails.
There is no manual 3 row suv. This could be a solution
you really just strap that in ? wow. um. need to at least bolt it down man. damn
It’s not going anywhere with the straps down tight.
Looking for another solution though. Plus we hardly use it since we don’t go out that often with all of us.

Always concerned and careful. This is a very rarely used item that I can add in in a pinch. Its not like were using this on a daily basis, only when the whole family wants to go exploring and that's like one every 4 months

Bestop sell them for the jeep though. Is it legal if installed into a jeep? Kind of a head scratcher how this exists if it's not somehow okay, in at least some places.

Bestop sells it to use as a 2nd row in a jeep, not as a 3rd. Why not mount a few rows in the bed of a pickup truck too? Just as safe.
