- Today, we installed the all new Turbosmart Kompact Dual Port BOV on our 2021 Ford Bronco First Edition 2.7L . Then, we make some sounds that we all wanted to hear out of the Ecoboost!
Install is as easy as it gets, as you only need 2 hand tools.
- An E6 Socket, along with a ratchet.
- A Phillips Head Screwdriver.

Definitely getting one of those. Also, it looks like for 0-60 runs you need to start in 2nd gear. The guys at Palm Beach dyno got some wicked results in their last video.

Just ordered a dual port
hi brother am from qatar and i use my bronco in sand dunes. am not expert in turbo . but my problem is when i drive in sand sometimes i need to leave the gas paddle and push it again but the engine responds late like 1.5 second
Guys, I love your content, keep up the good work. I bought he Turbosmart BOV after watching your video. Unfortunately, the three screws provided in the kit do not thread into the stock holes. Wrong thread pitch. Advise please. Dr. Alex
You can re-use the factory studs/screws. You just need an extended torx socket so you have clearance from the socket to the valve.
Thanks guys. I solved the situation by heading out to my local Lowe's and I purchased a package of Hillman brand screws. They are jet black and measure 12 x 3/4" . I am a surgeon, not a mechanic, but the process was simple. As a small Ferrari and Porsche collector, I appreciate the sound. Having the MBRP cat-back exhaust system installed this week. I went with the MRT "Trail Rated" axle back exhaust on both my two door Bronco's and like the sound. Trying out the MBRP on the four door for comparison.

Does the plumb back one also make the sound? I thought it didn't but on your site it says "give your truck a mean BOV sound"
The plumb back version doesn't make noise. Only the dual port version which vents 50% of the air to atmosphere makes the noise.
Installed this on my 4dr bronco and there’s not much clearance when trying to get the last few turns on the factory posts to snug it up. It’s pretty snug now but I like the idea of the screws that you used. What screws are those? Could you provide the size/thread pitch? Thanks
You can use some #12x 1" sheet metal screws. That's what we used on one of our Broncos and they worked great for us.

Does it change performance at all, or is it lust to protect the turbo from damage?
Our Reps. at Turbosmart have told us there should be a slight increase in power . We are planning to hit the dyno soon with it to confirm this increase!

Dose the plumb back vr13 increase power ?
It’s actually a VR19. The plumb back and dual port version can increase low quality me torque by the simple fact that they seal better than the OE product. If your tuned, you see even more gains due to this.
I installed one, but I noticed that the pishhh out comes out even if i didn’t left my leg of the throttle, is that’s normal?
Yes that's completely normal as it's not solely based off of what your foot does.
Little help- mine doesn’t seem to be working properly. Doesn’t “exhale” after the load. Help?
Are you running the dual port valve or the recirculating one? The dual port valve will make noise when it vents to atmosphere. The recirculating one won’t.
Does this work on the 3.0L ecoboost in Bronco raptor and new international ranger raptor

can the BOV intake any water if briefly submerged?
I suppose it could, however, we have yet to test it underwater.
Which way would you face the valve for the most sound?
Definitely would have to experiment with the angle. I would imagine pointed towards the firewall of the truck would give you, as the driver, the most sound, but pointed out to the grille for most noise from the the outside.

Any dyno updates after bov install?
We are planning to hit the dyno soon here to see the difference. We are told it should make a bit more power, so stay tuned!
Will adding this void any warranty?
Hard to say! Depends on the dealership that may have to work on it for warranty! It doesn’t change the tune …just vents dumps air outside , but some dealerships may get very picky depending on what it is that’s being repaired under warranty.

Indeed it will. They work on the 2.7l and 2.3l. Let us know if you have any other questions.
What is the difference between this type over the AMP ones ?
AMP are not BOV's they are spacer plates. Apples and Oranges

@@salahy96able no. It just spaces the OE valve out and vents it.
Does the Plumback accomplish the same effect on the turbo as the Dual Port, except for the sound? Any other differences?
Yes, the Plumb Back would still provide a better seal and hold boost better than the OE valve, just of course without the added sound since no air in leaving the intake track.
What is the type of the BOV
For 5 bucks at Home Depot, you can accomplish the same thing. Get yourself 1in diameter chair leg protectors and cap off the recirculation valve. and SHSHSHSHS
Does it do any damage or cancel the warranty?
This cannot damage the engine whatsoever! As far as warranty is concerned, while it truly depends on your service writer, this add-on should not constitute them to void your warranty.
That blow off valve needs a trumpet on it, way too quiet.
Why does the site say it’s not street legal?
We have a general discloser on all products for liability reasons. The valves from Turbosmart don’t affect anything with your calibration and are a direct replacement and improvement over the stock valve.
Because people usually don’t plumb them back in and vent to atmosphere which makes them non road legal
