I think it is the same everywhere, non musicians only focus on the singer because they dont play instruments themselves so they cant really relate to instrumentalists
Everything changes when you move to classical guitar. You have none of the crutches that other guitar players rely on. You have to do it all by yourself. No Marshall stack is gonna cover for you lack of ability. Why do you think classical guitar players never use steel strings ? Most ordinary guitar players are so clueless about the instrument that they cant even answer that question. And if you cant answer that question you know nothing about the guitars greatest strength.
I enjoyed Amyt's performance. The poor recording, .. coughing, sporting performance going on next door! Very Rude! Bring him back and give him the respect he deserves!
Wonderful analogies Mr Amyt Datta. Love the playing, thank you for persevering through those conditions. I do hope you get to speak again under better circumstances. The world deserves to hear your wisdom ;)
I was fortunate enough to get the same thing from Mr.Dutta in person.. Sir I still remember those 3 hours you talking on "Inside the mind of a guitar player."🤘
Singers are born and Musicians are made. And rightly said that in India, Musicians are always hidden behind the curtains. Whereas in western world every member of the band is equally appreciated. Thats because of lack of understanding of music. And sadly legends like Amyt Datta are wasted talents in India..
the sound quality on this video is appalling. watching and listening is excruciatingly hard. how ironic, considering the topic... i copped out at 5 minutes.
An interesting view on music, as one note being in the company of another, or an harmonious friend. Got me thinking about the unharmonious, or dissonant relationships in life, as well. The tension and release section made a lot of sense. I'm definitely of the belief that Seeing music like this can allow you to bring more to your instrument, and your musical expression.
Camera work needs improvement. Taking the camera away every time the guitarist would position his fingers on the fretboard was hard to see his finger positioning, making it hard to enjoy what he was illustrating. In this kind of illustration, it is easier to keep the camera focus right in front of the guitarist, to be able to enjoy and fully understand his expression, therefore, helping to connect in a smoother way with the guitarist. However, I understand the camera work was intended to make it more interesting by positioning the camera at different angles, obviously. I am not a camera expert. I was an audience that while observing and listening brought out this feeling in me. Nevertheless, interesting and learning was great from this amazing guitarists. Thank you to the guitarist and thank you Tedx for this wonderful opportunity.
I was excepting a better sound quality according to the title. And actually it was the worse (most ungood :d) TEDx video I've ever seen, and I'm a guitarist.
I'm a guitarist as well, and I think the fact that we play guitar (along with the awful sound quality and awkward speech) just makes this video difficult to enjoy.
He's a Genius. I heard him this Sunday with his Nylon String Side Cut Classical Guitar. He has been in some tunefall melodies, I just ate that.
explained life through C diatonic scale & D harmonic minor and C harmonic minor.......beautiful.........beautiful.......!!!
Musicians are too much underrated and the singers are too much overrated in India..People have to change their minds..
NAVAJEEVAN PHARMACEUTICALS absolutely! Sadly the case everywhere.

You're right dude
Massively right dude we should spread the message
It's a shame that such a great presentation is inflicted with such poor audio quality
This idea has potential. The production value needs to be raised. The message refined. The venue improved.
I enjoyed Amyt's performance. The poor recording, .. coughing, sporting performance going on next door! Very Rude! Bring him back and give him the respect he deserves!
Yes PLEASE bring him back record it correctly - as a guitar player of many years my opinion is that this could have be fantastic!!
Wonderful analogies Mr Amyt Datta. Love the playing, thank you for persevering through those conditions. I do hope you get to speak again under better circumstances. The world deserves to hear your wisdom ;)

Great talk on music and life! Actually it is easier to understand complexities of music the way Mr Datta explains. Thanks for the stimulating talk.
What an amazing clinic! Fresh approach using familiar parlance.
This is a really good analogy. So simple but explains alot in life and music. I loved the video. Thank you.
makes great sense .. where art and free expression are in the first place permitted .. . .
It all makes so much sense. The analogies are so much relatable. Thank you for such an enlightening presentation Mr. Amyt Datta.

I was fortunate enough to get the same thing from Mr.Dutta in person.. Sir I still remember those 3 hours you talking on "Inside the mind of a guitar player."🤘

I've been playing the guitar for decades now and not once have I ever thought of the notes as a community. Just notes on strings.
Absolutely ROSSCOTV.. Quite precisely referred in a musician's language.. 👏💐🙏😊🎸🎼

The note after is what matters.
That is exactly how I never thought about any of this stuff! Not even music.
Next time they should request smokers to stay out when some Music talk is on.

the buggers are coughing their asses off, they should've drunk a bottle of Corex each, before the presentation. :D

+1 to all that and that feedback makes my teeth grind
Inside the mind of a guitarist. Short video.
Shame that these type of good musicians are born in Randia/Endia ,Endia loves Bhandwood jokers.
high quality mic
It was apparently filmed in a pub during the World Cup.

Didi Dada ra Benadryl lao.
Didn't they have any better equipment to record his talk? Way too scratchy and room noises. Ruined an otherwise nice talk.
Disclaimer .
Good talk, bad recording :|
????
Maybe plan a bit better. All the “you know…”, “I mean…”, “Um…”, “Er…”, etc make it hard to kisten
nijei staff notetion jane na....
Garib er Ted talks😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
How can you publish bad sound quality like this? Are you professionals? Not likely.
Coughing and cheering made it hard to listen
Weird weird microphone
Evidentially vocal quality isn't in the mind of a guitarist
borabor e playing er theke boke besi....tao aber baj boke...
Sandhi biched o bengali . But not language .
No. As difference. Mr amit datta . From West Bengal , India.
Boring af nothing special
The parallels he sketches are so lame. Not interesting.
WTF!!!
Pro tip - next time, start with something beautiful before hitting all the sour notes.
he repeat himelf too much and its hard to watch
THis man had little to say and too a lot of time letting us know it. Besides, his lip smacking was annoying.
While holding a fender jaguar still if you don't play a Nirvana song... Its disappointing... Otherwise good motivation..
He's not a cover artist, and if you listen to his music you'd realize it's far from his thing.
Plus it's a jazzmaster not a jaguar
Worst Ted ever
