  • Decided to do a little review video since I was having questions on social media. This is my 16hp (420cc) predator engine with the 13-22hp mudskipper lontail kit. Runs 11-12mph with my 16ft boat full of gear and 2 people. Comment for questions or DM me on instagram.

The main reason you are only going 11 mph is not because your hull shape it because your using the 3 blade prop (not a fan). The best upgrade ever is the thai prop adapter for it. It will run way faster after that I promise.

I’ll have to look into that! Thanks for the tip!

Does that engine have charging coils to run your lights off of the same battery?

I run my lights off a separate battery. I have a battery for each

Most engines W/ a Electric Starter, Automatically change over to an alternator after the engine starts.

Looks like it’s diggn to deep, may fightn it a little, definitely to big a prop, sounds like motor is bogging

The prop that’s was on there is rated for that size motor!😁I have however since changed to a 2 bladed prop instead of a three bladed and it runs much smoother with it. The only time it was digging deeper was in the shallower water! Otherwise when I’m running in deeper water, the prop sits right at the surface! Thank for the comment!

@@arwoutdoors gotcha, a little bit different style than what I’m running, when you get it dialed in, it’s a lot better for sure

@@clayton203 absolutely! It is definitely a great motor for what the price is. Nice and easy build too!

@@arwoutdoors we have a big problem with Asian carp, flying fish, whatever you want to call them, messed up a lot of our local small rivers,
Just dangerous as hell now running down em, some of them fish are big, like 20 pounders, built a cage for one boat, but Fixn to fabricate another one, keeps you on the edge of your seat, that’s for sure, you get into em thick, and you think they are trying to hurt you to get you out of there, crazy

@@clayton203 oh I’ve seen videos of them asian carp hitting people and I can see how it can be very dangerous. Very happy they aren’t around my area
