I haven’t seen anyone play the saw for ages. Leave it to Sierra Ferrell to bring back an old traditional country sound. I love that young fellows picking and singing on Deep River Blues. I believe I heard Doc Watson play that tune.
@@reginavance8295 Many saws will do that. You just need to try it out, That one has a handle that will make it easier on the hands to bend, Check out Elephant Revival. Bonnie Paine plays a pretty good saw herself.
Creepy sounding. A waste of Sierra Ferrell's talent, only because the Doc Watson version is drilled into everyone's head. The minor key turns it into a different animal. Doesn't resonate quite right.
@@BofaD.Snuts90210 The Delmore brothers wrote it, and many have performed it but doc did it best(arguably). I like to listen to other interpretations as well but this is just bad in my opinion. You enjoy it all you like.
@@labradog86 I will. No need to leave negatoilet comments. These are two talented musicians. Why let the world know you don’t like it? There are several subtle nods to Doc in the performance if you pay attention carefully…spread some positivity if you feel compelled to comment. Otherwise, just skip over it if you don’t like it.
Doc is tapping his foot somewhere!
Ha ha. She never ceases to amaze me. Incredible artist. Great guitar and vocals by the young man. Betting he won’t forget the day he recorded this.
Love this take on the old Doc Watson classic. Sierra on the saw…. A treat!
Anyone and everyone who gets to play with her is unbelievably lucky. And so are we.
There are no words to convey what happens when she’s singing 💛
Ok Jimmie rodgers 😂
We are in The Era of Sierra
Whoever records with Sierra, I buy the CD because she's on it. She is pure magic. 🦄

beautiful and talented singer and songwriter. awesome style and personality. ...and she plays the saw!!!???!!! wtf...she's a keeper!
My dad used to say you could judge the quality of a saw by the sound you could coax from it.
Nice nod to Doc Watson & the Delmore Brothers.
I like the minor key arrangement and the saw!
Saw this on Instagram and then showed up in my TH-cam recommendations. You guys deserve the recognition for this wonderful rendition
Such a cool arrangement. Gotta think Doc would love it.
Beautiful! ❤😊
Love the sound of this!!! I’ve got it playing all morning today.
Great rendition of this classic tune. Hot dayum!
Excellent cover of a great song. I like the saw playing

This was good man!!! Can’t beat the company too Lol
You certainly convinced me. I subbed
DatfunkyB approves
🔥
You just did magic
I’ve always thought JTE was Sierra’s perfect match harmonically.
HOT DOG!!!
She's doing a witchcraft
Whats the name of the instrument that Sierra is playing? Great cover!
The Saw
Musical saw, she plays it on the album version of “the sea”.
@@alexgray8804 I thought it was just a regular saw.

You the same guy in east nash?
Give us a version with just Sierra on the vocals. Pretty please =]
What's she doing to get that sound?
That's the original "Theramin sound" before electronics. She's playing the saw. You bend a cross-cut saw and play it with a bow like a violin.
Really nice stuff. Love it all, but those tats Lol, it looks like a cozy place to be.
Mountain songbird
She sounds old timey but has piercings and tattoos. Wow

I personally hate this, deep River blues is my favorite doc Watson song and this seems so awkward and tonally wrong imo
Nobody is forcing you to listen to it…Doc didn’t write the song. He performed it well and put his own spin on it. That’s what these two are doing.

Amen! Well put Michael Garner. Labradog sounds like a sick!
Ha ha.. I meant Dick. Or maybe he is sick...
