More of THIS please. That was epic Michael. That piano coming in the way it did and Portnoy’s drums throughout, just fantastic. Great tune. Thanks.

Dream Theater is by far my favourite Metal band! Saw them live last year plus a show with just John Petrucci (the guitarist) and Mike Portnoy (the drummer at the time of this song) more recently, and those were the best shows I've ever been too! James LaBrie's vocals were much more legendary during the band's prime but as with many singers, it decays with age and use. Every member of this band is not only one of the best and most talented musicians in their fields, but they are all excellent composers as well. They are definitely a musician's band first and foremost, but they have many moments of lyrical masterpieces and this is definitely one of their best of both worlds!
Not sure which track you listened to previously, but here are a few I'd recommend:
    Panic Attack
    Pull Me Under
Metropolis Pt. I: "The Miracle And The Sleeper"
    Octavarium
    The Count Of Tuscany
    A Change Of Seasons
And if you want to get into one of their more expanded works, there's a suite of 5 songs from 5 different albums called the 12 Step Suite, and it details the 12 steps of the Alcoholics Anonymous program, of which drummer Mike Portnoy had undergone in at the beginning of the 2000s. Every song is a masterpiece but should be done in order as they reference motifs and riffs from the previous tracks:
    12 Step Suite:
-The Mirror [Prequel to the suite] (1994)
    -The Glass Prison (2002)
    -This Dying Soul (2003)
-The Root Of All Evil (2005)
    -Repentance (2007)
    -The Shattered Fortress (2009)
You'll notice, as was the case with this one, many of their songs are very long, but Dream Theater are one of those bands that justify the lengths like no other! They were heavily inspired by bands like Rush, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Yes, and King Crimson, bands that weren't afraid to push the envelope and go for 10, 15, 20 30, even 40 minute songs, and many of which are all fantastic!

This was intense, and so well done by the end. I also almost bailed at the front, but held on... and I'm glad I did!
One of my favorite YT comedians' favorite group is Dream Theater - I love when different spheres of my world crossover.

Definitely can tell you've been around music just by your nodding specifically drumming, imo. Thats a great reaction when someone can articulate what is being played! Love it man!

I see you got a new channel. Kool! I use to watch you when you reacted to Steely Dan, and some others. I never in my lifetime thought that you would listen to Dream Theater. Wow! Dream Theater (DT) has been my Fav since 1995. Now that you have been exposed, good luck listing to other stuff. For me, After DT I found it hard to enjoy even my old favs. It seems as if DT totally opened up my music with some Top Notch Everything! You have only tasted of them. Now you have to consume there volume of Music. I'll give you a little History of DT. and a request.
