Oh yes! Welcome to Lara's Magical World of Songs! From the same album as 'Adagio', one of her most most famous cover of Je Suis Malade is the one that completely floors everyone. I've been following Lara's career over 25 years now, still when I hear/see her performing this song I never fail to tear up in the end.
Lara has no equal.
Lara Fabian is a lyric soprano , she is twice more experienced than any other female performer , because she is THE professional certified by classical music school .
Her ability to be so agile going up or down , from chesty deep register to her mask head voice so effortlessly is because she mastered the technique of diaphragm and if you watch carefully how she uses even her lips with open wide mouth .
Ubsolutely insane range , emotions always spot on , attractive presense and her own personal tone all in one package equals to a DIVA !!!

And down the rabbit hole you go! It was a delight watching your face. I just discovered her about six months ago and, though I don't normally fangirl anyone, I became a superfan instantly.
I second the rec to watch her Je Suis Malade with English subtitles from this same concert From Lara With Love. It was my first experience of her and what sent me down the rabbit hole. Jaw-dropping.
By the way, she's still very active touring, releasing new albums, writing. (She wrote Adagio.) She sings mostly in French, English, with a lot of Italian and Spanish. (Grew up speaking Italian and French.)

US record co signed her and basically told her what to sing and it didn't sell, pop is not her forte realizing she had better voice technique and style than most of the women in the US but would not sell as well no one resigned her and she went back to Belgium thank God for that.

I first heard Lara when I was living in Brussels in the 1990s. She is simply breathtaking in this performance. No matter how often I watch it, I get chills (ditto on "Je Suis Malade," your reaction to which I will watch next!).
Yes, Lara is a contemporary of Celine Dion; they were both in the 1988 Eurovision contest. Dion won and Lara took 4th place -- although many feel Lara was actually better. I certainly feel so.....and continue to believe Lara is the better singer.
It should've been Fabien and Dion in top 2..UK maybe top 5 but surely not worthy of the position he got.. Was she better than Celine, no... She had sung beautifully but Celine showed better range and held your attention
@@renee9928 Well, as good as Dion's voice is, I don't care to listen to or watch her perform. She's just not sufficiently emotionally versatile.
See there I beg to differ...I think even for a person that didn't go through such things when recording her songs she made me feel like she did.. That's a personal preference I guess.. To each their own🤷♀️

Probably you feel it was kind of ethereal because the song is an adaptation of Tomaso Albinoni's Adagio, one of the most mesmerizing pieces of classical music ever. Lara added the words to an already great melody.

Hi, I'm a big fan for 20 years now. The song "You're not from here" is one of my absolute favorites! It's a masterpiece. th-cam.com/video/tIY2Dfqcnvs/w-d-xo.html Her breath control is one of a kind. Her singing technique is just flawless. I understand people comparing her to Celine. But for me these are 2 totally different singers. And I like Lara's tone more than Celine's.
