The blonde wig is it's own character. It also appears in Defying Gravity and Pop Goes Broadway. This one involved a LOT of beer, and their longstanding contest of "who can sing the worst the longest" at the end there.
When you get a little drunk with friends, but are so talented that awesomeness is the result. 🤣. (This was 2014, so a couple years into PTX)

Scott has admitted they were quite drunk making this video lol. The three of them have been friends since they were kids so they goof around a lot. If you want to see more of them singing and goofing off, I'd recommend their Defying Gravity video and their La La Land medley. If you want a song that will blow your mind, I'd recommend their cover of Rise. If you want something that's not singing but will make you laugh your head off, watch their Stranger Things parody. Also, always watch to the very end. Their bloopers are hilarious!

There's an Official Version of Let It Go on one of their Christmas albums. Mitch and Kirstie switch back and forth between leading vocals. Because they CAN. It's ridiculous and lovely.

I've always thought that Kirstie has a perfect voice to voice a Disney princess, but this one confirms it - just hearing her sing Kristen Bell's part in For the First Time in Forever is all the confirmation I need.

Region 9 in Florida , I met Tony after a competition,after party- we were all singing tags…I was the newbie…he smiled- I didn’t need anything else. Our chorus won so it was pretty cool for 30 minutes of celebrating singing.❤😊

They were already Pentatonix by this point, but only a couple of years into it. This is one of the funniest AND most entertaining videos on TH-cam! I love how seriously Mitch is taking it until he just can't anymore! Kirstie really is a living Disney princess...but then again, so is Mitch! This is what happens when three life-long close friends (and proud choir nerds) get together in a recording studio with a videographer AND a LOT of alcohol...all three have admitted that they got quite toasted that night! Apparently the first six minutes of the video was the only complete take they got thru (and while they were still relatively sober), and the bloopers contain the highlights of what happened later (and after a bit more consumption). They also do a medley with Kirstie from the movie La-La Land. It doesn't quite break down into the silliness of this one, but it's also pretty entertaining...and has an unforgettable highlight that some Pentaholics refer to as the "ultimate Scomiche moment"!

Kirstie was a music theater major the year she was at OU. The three of them were staples at Theater Arlington growing up. So theater is in their blood.
This is HILARIOUS!!!
All three sounded like they approached this differently with the way they sang. Scott just had fun with it, Kirstin sounded like she was in a Disney movie and Mitch just went full out Broadway. So much fun!

This is super relatable! I remember when us choir kids hung out and we'd bust out in awful off key versions of our current songs. It was so much fun. Happy memories for sure!

They did an equally great La La Land medley, but see it ONLY if you know the movie.
See I hadn't seen the movie yet at the time I watched and I still really enjoyed their performance. Same with strangerfruit which I know is not musical. Very much enjoyed what they did even if I understood none of it.
@@PtxXtp I know some reactors have reacted without knowing the movie, and got some laughs out of it, but I think they miss a LOT. So much of it is spoofing specific moments in detail. And a person can only watch the video for the first time once, it seems a shame to waste that. But to each their own.
I've never seen the movie but I love that video. I just appreciate it because it's so obvious that they're having a total blast making it.
As already pointed out, this was not before PTX. But Scott, Mitch and Kirstie were already friends and singing together in high school.

Pentatonix - Daft Punk, Dance of the Sugar plum Fairy, Sing, Show you how to Love, Edge of glory, Imagine and Somebody that I used to know. Also you should check out their cover of Gold, watch the original Kiiara version first, and do Aha! studio version and then live in Singapore, they will give you a whole new appreciation for their talent. You should check out some of their Sing Off journey as well, this is where they formed Pentatonix but Mitch, Scott and Kirstin are childhood friends and had the Trio before Pentatonix.

When PTX recorded "Let It Go" for one their annual Christmas albums, Mitch and Kirstie swapped back and forth on lead, each doing a full verse/chorus pair before handing off to the other. It's fucking amazing, and folks I know who've heard it (but don't know each member of PTX well enough to ID them by very small differences in timbre) think there's only one person on lead throughout, and that said one person hasn't had their vocal tract influenced by testosterone in any way. Mitch is just that good at pulling off Full Broadway while soaring in high octaves, and Kirstie is just that good at Broadway style generally AND at matching Mitch's voice as well as any two different people can.

One of their best videos in my opinion. They sang Let It Go (bonus track) on one of their Christmas albums too! Fun fact; there may have been some mild drinking in between takes while filming this video. This was during them still being in PTX tho.

No, this is *not* before Pentatonix; Superfruit was formed by Scott and Mitch as a channel where they could get away from the serious work of Pentatonix and just goof off.
The thing you must always remember about "the trio" (Scott, Kirstie, and Mitch) is that they've been friends since they were children. I believe their time in Pentatonix has further cemented that friendship, even as they've gone on to have personal lives outside of their membership in PTX.
So on this particular evening, three old friends got together to relax, goof off, have some fun together. The evening began with a few glasses of wine, which somehow turned into several glasses of wine - in other words, they were drunk as skunks when they decided that it would be fun to film themselves as Anna, Elsa, and Hans from _Frozen._ Given who they are it was probably inevitable, with or without alcohol, but I'm *guessing* the alcohol was a major factor in the decision to use Kirstie's hair as a prop.
If you absolutely must judge, judge this as a comedy, because it's incredibly funny. Don't judge it as Pentatonix - Pentatonix would never do this - judge it as Superfruit, and enjoy it. That's what it's there for.

In high school, the trio (Mitch, Scott, and Kirstie) used to compete to see who could sing off-key the longest. From what people tell me, that's really hard to do. They were helped along here with some adult beverages.

All of the members of PTX have said time and time again that they're nothing more than huge theater nerds with a platform. Seeing yourself in some of the things they do for fun, the stuff that's been put into their videos, isn't all that surprising, really. Just like most everyone else I love how much fun they have when it's time for it. And, how much work they put into everything when it's time to get serious. No matter what they're doing, though, their absolute joy for music comes through. And, I'm sure, it helps that they can all have fun with one another, too.

They began as a trio. Became PTX just day or two before The Sing Off. Added Avi first then brought in Kevin to complete the group. Avi and Kevin had to learn their parts on the fly, as it were. You can follow the development of PTX as you watch the weekly episodes until they ended up winning. That was the start of PTX. The rest is musical history.

Superfruit is Mitch and Scott. They do have music but they also have on their Channel little 16 minutes videos of Chess messing around. It's nice that they don't take themselves too seriously Connex or Superfruit. Art at the end where they all are purposely singing bad is something that they used to do it

They are always amazing. They had been drinking when this was recorded. It is hard to be believe this is what they sound like when they just throw something together. If they had really worked up the songs they could have easily been the quality that is on the original recordings.
